Description

Wanted to get a new PC for gaming, as mine is outdated. Decided to build versus buy, to save some cash. Overall was an enjoyable experience. I do need to go back and work some cable management. Also, I had issues with the windows 10 usb stick, purchased brand new and it would not work. Downloaded the boot from microsoft, installed no problems. Had to use my license code from the one I bought though so I guess I’m not returning it.

Opted for a 1080 instead of 1080ti because of the price difference. Wanted to keep the build as ROG as possible, and the asus 1080ti OC was pushing $900+. Got the 1080 OC for less than $530

Opted for 270 board and i7 7700k because of the shortage of 8700k at the time I ordered everything.

Will upload better photos when I get a chance!

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Little loud, but works excellent! Beautiful RGB, pumps great, easy install.

Motherboard

Awesome mobo, no issues at all. Plenty of headers, easy install.

Memory

Look much better in person and installed than they do online! Very pleased with the quality and rgb.

Storage

Works great! Don’t have much to say other than I’m pleased. It is fast as advertised.

Video Card

Opted for this over the 1080ti due to a big price difference. I wanted Asus ROG products to keep the build matching as much as possible. Running all games I play @ 130-140 FPS on ultra.

Case

Huge case, plenty of room to move around, great cable management. Big fan. And looks great! Extra fan headers included in the case, which was an excellent surprise!

Monitor

This monitor is incredible! Huge fan!

look just like my build; just little different. those RAM works flawlessly and beautiful bright RGB. i have everything sync with asus aura sync.

Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX Video Card Opted for this over the 1080ti due to a big price difference. I wanted Asus ROG products to keep the build matching as much as possible. Running all games I play @ 130-140 FPS on ultra.

-pretty much agreed with this because i was doing the same. it will be the same if you go 4K @ 60hz gaming.

Awesome! Ive thought about 4K. I’m using a 180hz ROG monitor right now, not 4K, just 1080 I believe. But I’m loving it!
