I am building this computer for programming & productivity more than anything else. I was tired of using a small laptop so I decided to build a PC so I could be more productive.

I might use it for some light gaming in the case I ever have spare time.

I like the B&W color scheme so I went ahead and painted the thermal armor of the Sabertooth.

Update 11/18/15: Added GPU! :)

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

• Zero RAM interference

• LOOKS GREAT and even better in a B&W Color scheme

• Keeps CPU cool at very low RPM I would get the alert of low rpm but CPU is at 28°C when idle :P

• Very QUIET!!!

It just works! No issues at all! Looks great!

Simple, clean. Design allows plenty of airflow and customization. Great case!

Case Fan

Silent! Good for situations where static pressure is needed!

600 -1300 RPM | 2.76 mm H2O | 89.55 CFM | 12.5 -22.19 dB

Works great as intake for my case, since the room for intake is very closed or has not much space. Would work great for radiators too.

Very nice PC. I noticed that your monitor is the Asus PB278Q. Do you notice any delays between the time you move your mouse and the time it shows up on screen? Thanks

Hey Actually I have the PB258Q I just checked and both are 5ms response I use a track ball so it is very sensitive and even then it doesn't show any delay at all... I don't know if someone could actually notice ... I am not a gamer btw

But I like it. Colors are very good! I went for the 25" because the pixel density is so great! Letters might be smaller but I don't have a problem with it, I can read fine. Also compared with an older monitor which wasn't flicker free and didn't have blue filter, on this one I can code for hours and without eye strain.

+1 for the case fans alone.

i love how the motherboard looks but why did you not get the sabertooth mark s was it just because of the price?

snarkyCoder submitter 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Thanks man! I didn't consider having it white before I bought it, but the price of Mark S would've been the deal-breaker for me anyway. The armor does look better than in the picture. All the small details were preserved with the vinyl & fabric dye :)

im going to be making a white build at the end of the year, and i would love the sabertooth but the price is out of my range, but ive spray panted before...... did turn out that well........

I just added some pictures of the painting process. The kind of paint is very important for this. You can see a tutorial here

If you want it not to be permanent you can use Plasti Dip like this guy here

Why would you tell me this?! LOL I didn't know there where Xeon with LGA 1150 socket! Anyways... I needed a CPU with iGPU for now.

But thanks! I will consider Xeon in the future for regular desktop PC's.
