Description

True story:

This was my current set up that I biult in Dec: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/jnanof/builds/#view=cw8KHx

I built this computer https://pcpartpicker.com/b/6NHNnQ and sold it for a profit. The buyer got the gaming bug and upgraded the CPU, Ram and Video card. So I bought them all back at a discount (see prices). I am using the ram and video card this new build.

I bought the i5 from Staples online using their 110% price match guaratee using MicroCenter price. Then got an additional 6% off retail price for checking out within 20 minutes. In addition, the CSR for staples could not do his math because he gave me a $105 discount instead of the $88 it shold have been. Got the i5 for $127 including tax and free shipping.

Got the power supply from EVGA B stock (scratch and dent). Was 59.95 and only $5 shipping. No scratches or dents. JonnyGURU Recommended Award 9 out of 10.

Motherboard was a bit of a compromise. I know I have a locked chip but wanted to get a good gaming MOBO for a good price and fast. The H97's just were not peaking my interest.I also wanted to get it fast so I was focused on Amazon Prime. I also had a ton of credit card reward points to spend too as well as some gift cards.Though I wanted a really good OC board, I figured by the time I upgraded chips, there would be new and improved boards as well. I am happy with this board. It's brown though :( but the red back-lighting makes up for it :)

Samsung Evo came from my previous build.

I ordered the case because it was on sale. I really like the mini itx version of this case (the V1). This is a great case. It has some mixed reviews and I really don't know why. It has tons of features, space, everything is modular and plenty of cable management space. Lighter than some case but I prefer that.

Went with white fans :)

I am selling my old PC for $200 plus trade for an xbox one with kinect and some games worth about $375. So making a tad profit on that!

All in all this whole computer was a totally free upgrade :) And I still have the 6300 to sell. And I will get cash back on everything on my visa card and the bill does not come due for another 60 days, plenty of time to sell off the old stuff.

Pay no attention to the Xmas tree in the background :) We are past the 1/2 way point now so Its staying up lol

This is exactly what I plan on doing. The second I get my PC built it is headed to eBay, then I will get something nicer and repeat. Until I'm at X99 and 980 Ti :D

except for the fee and shipping fees. Best to try to deal local if you can.

I am in a VERY rural area, there is no such thing as local dealing in PC's here.

Wow that is very very high for a 970, might just want to order off the internet :P

Staples will match any brick and mortar price but online only. Best Buy will do the same. MicroCenter does not always have the best price on anything but always has the best price on CPUs
