Description

A bit overpowered for my needs and will add a mechanical hard drive or SSHD in it soon. Manage to overclock the CPU to 5GHz, but the temps are a little higher than what I was comfortable with (77-86 while stress testing), so I put it at 4.9GHz and it's around 70-79 degrees when stress testing. If I do anything wrong, feel free to tell me, I'm new to this.

Edit: I got a Seagate FireCuda 1TB SSHD, and the cable management might look horrible because when I took the pictures, I haven't tidy up the cables yet. I just want to see if it'll boot or not.

Update: Added a Kingston UV400 480gb and replaced the fans on the H100i v2 to Silent Wings 3

Update #2: Replaced the hard drive with a Seagate 4TB 5400rpm, as 1TB of storage is too little for me :P

Part Reviews

CPU

Got mine running at 4.9GHz and 1.265v with temperature from 60 to 79 degrees underload (with Corsair H100i v2).

CPU Cooler

Managed to overclock my i7-7700K to 4.9GHz. Can run a bit loud when CPU is under load, but once I choose the "quiet" profile on my Corsair link, the noise is not that bad. I don't really care about the noise, since I like to hear the fans spin.

Power Supply

Does what it's suppose to do.

Optical Drive

Really can't say much, but it gets the job done and do what I expected to do.

Tidy up the cables a bit and possibly add an LED strip. Then the PC will really look dank af. Great build!

I tidied up the cable, or else it would drive me nuts. Will definitely get a LED strip. Thanks for the tip!

No problem, enjoy the experience!

If you aren't going to use that bad on the bottom I would strongly suggest removing it and give yourself the ability to add in another 120mm case fan as intake on the bottom. I have very similar built right now but mounted the radiator to the front of the 750D (along with the high airflow kit) and managed to keep the temps around 63 at 4.8 gHz. I was also using a push pull design with the radiator and replaced all case fans with thermaltake riing RGB. The stock ones just seemed to be ineffective for me and quite loud. I do love the all black look, that is exactly what I was looking to do as well when I built my Stealth. Would definitely like to see more pics when you get around to it.

Is the SSHD from Seagate? Personally, I'd avoid Seagate altogether, never had a drive last more than a year.

dalewong21 submitter 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

I haven't got the SSHD yet, since I don't have time except the weekend. Thanks for the tip!

How is that Asus monitor looking? Satisfied?

dalewong21 submitter 1 Build 2 points 18 months ago

It feels good, especially when games such as CSGO. Feels more smoother since it's 144hz. Also, I read some reviews talking about the colours being a little washed out, but I don't really think so. They are fine to me.

Do you get 75 degrees CPU under load with benchmark or regular use?

@Ahmed_Emara 1 point 12 months ago

Great build

@Ahmed_Emara 1 point 12 months ago

Try better cable managment

dalewong21 submitter 1 Build 1 point 12 months ago

If you look at the post, you would know why the cable management is bad

@Ahmed_Emara 1 point 12 months ago

@Ahmed_Emara 1 point 12 months ago
