Also, Pcpartpicker says the Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo wont work with the corsair spec 01 red,but it fits fine and it does not touch the side window.

What desk is that?

  • 1 point

Its the "Regency Seating Wood Computer Corner Desk, Mocha Walnut" desk from walmart for 124 dollars.and I didn't bother putting the sliding drawers on. It's a very large desk! It is out of stock online at walmart and its really expensive if you buy it anywhere else. Hope this helps

How's the P400 doing for you? It looks great and I definitely wanna get it. Does it pass the scratch test?

Why are the temps so high under load?

  • 1 point

I didn't post any pictures of my my pc temps on pcpartpicker I dont think so I guessing your from my youtube channel, what happened wad my 980 ti use to idle at 40-50c while idling and I couldnt figure out why. I fixed it though, I found out it was Nvidia geforce experience, they have a recording software called shadow play and whenever I turned it on it would make my temps shoot up,but when its turned off my gpu idles at 24c!

I'm going to visit your channel later on, but I saw the temps in the description section where it says 82c under load which shocked me. Do you like the P400S and do you have any suggestions when building inside of it?

  • 1 point

ohh ok I dont remember putting 82c but yeah the p400 is amazing and I'm putting a tempered piece of glass for the window in a week or so.but no I dont recommend anything when it comes to building in the p400,its a amazing case!

Why is this listed in the builds for the white phanteks p400s shouldn't this be listed in one of the black cases? I also do video editing/rendering, gaming and a lot of different kinds of art ok my computer and have been studying up, getting opinions for a long time now. In my opinion unless you really needed to save money right now and you were gunna update later I guess, I would have gone with some kind of 6 core i7 cpu or the 6700k for about 100 dollars more. The 6 cores is great for video editing or at the very least if you went with the 4 core 6700k you'd still have enough overclocking power to get your renders speeds up. Not to mention with a 6700k you could get a newer motherboard and some ddr4 ram which is getting pretty cheap now. Lastly that said I would have gone with at least 16gb ofor ram 32 is even better but 16 is just fine. Again though this just from my research.

I'm currently building a new rig for similar reasons but I feel it's better to wait save a bit more and get better stuff then getting the minimum you need to run all your stuff. The 980ti is a great choice though especially that one. I just personally think it's better to get somewhat newer and more stuff than you need now than by cheaper stuff. You have to upgrade less soon and when you do have to upgrade you won't be paying as much.

I built this system more than half a year ago and I didnt think I would be Doing any video editing on it but I was wrong,Also ive been out of the computer game for a really long time.I did upgrade to skylake but there was a huge issue at the time with ram and the Mobo so after three whole weeks of trouble shooting I went back to my old system :( I need to update my build on pcpartpicker. I now have 16gb of ram and Im planning to upgrade to 32 soon. Also Im putting my 4690k in a new mini itx build and im getting the 4790k. I know skylake is newer and a bit more powerful and more power efficient, but I'm really happy with my build right now. I'll eventually build a skylake system and when that happens that will be really cool but until then I'll stick with my current rig until I see a huge decrease in performance :)

Hope your rig that your building turns out great and please post pics of your rig I'd love to see them when you put your new rig together.

Sorry didn't know this was an older build did you move it into the new case from a different one. I just know the p400s came out recently so I figured it was a newer build not an update.

Lol its fine and its kinda my fault for not updating my build pics and info. To answer you question yes I had the Corsair spec 1, I thought the case was really boring and kinda cheap so when I saw the p400 on a CES video on youtube I fell in love with it and made myself preorder it! Also I liked the window that it came with but I saw a video about replacing the acrylic window with a tempered glass window from Paul's Hardware on youtube and I really wanted to do my first case mod. Also I did a video if your interested to see how it went. In the video its hard to see the difference from the acrylic and glass but trust me, theres a huge difference. Keep me updated on your build that your planning, Im interested to see what parts you pick and how everthing goes.

Good choice on picking the g1 gaming gtx 980 ti its better than the one that I have now. I cant wait to see the build when its built!!!

Here's what I'm currently working on. Ask if you'd like some in site into why I picked what I picked. I also do videos and will be doing a build log as I get my parts. My case is in the mail and I have the cpu cooler and power supply already!
