Description

Hello!

Ive been needing a new PC desperately for a long time now.

I have always been an avid gamer, but lately I am starting a Building Design diploma, so needed something which has a bit of grunt for rendering. This is why I went for the i7-4790K. I liked the high clock speed, and the ability to OC it in the future if I found necessary.

I was very worried I would get a DOA part, but everything works. Still need to do a Stress test, but it seemed to run fine in Valley benchmark.

Always been a big fan of mATX cases, and when I saw the Corsair Air 240 I had to have it, even if it meant choosing parts specifically for it.

I had originally wanted to run a H100i and MSI GTX 970. But there was some issues with the height of the card bending the side window/panel. After choosing the Gigabyte card, I had to also swap to the H80i to accommodate for the length of the card. Was looking at the NZXT water kits but I really liked the RGB LED in the H80i. My only complaint about the H80i is that it is pretty loud using both fans on it!

The only thing I dont like about the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GPU is the Windforce logo with a very bright blue LED when I was aiming for more of a purple/black look.

I am still in the process of getting some sleeved cables which are purple/black, just hadnt decided yet, thats why the cable management is a little bit on the crappy side.

Probably didnt need the 1TB SSD, but had it for a few months for use in my old laptop. (Also why I hadnt put a price for it as I forgot, I think it was roughly $450)

Was tempted to go for the Asus Maximus Gene motherboard, but decided didnt need to spend the extra money on it, especially if it didnt suit the colour theme I wanted also.

I have terrible internet currently so wont have 3DMark results for a while until I can download it.

If you have any questions or just wanna make a note of anything I may have done incorrectly even please leave a comment below!

Thanks, Nonco.

It is a Benq VZ2350HM 23" IPS monitor :)

Did you ever get to keep that monitor? Planning to buy one but I'm skeptical just cause it doesn't have much reviews online.

Can I ask, does it have a good default stand? I know it supports vesa mount and I'm wondering if there are speakers around the sides that may cause gaps when set in a multi-monitor setup.

Also, a lot of IPS that I've encountered can sometimes have slight backlight bleeding, can you notice them in that monitor?

Hopefully you respond, Thanks!

Oh man sorry I didn't see your comment. I don't regularly check this site :(

Hopefully you selected a good monitor!

to be honest, i think that you probably could fit a h100i in there (just)

After building it I noticed I could probably still fit it just, but at the same time id much rather have a fan blowing cooler air onto my gpu. Also the h80i is doing wonders, keeping my cpu cool under load even after taking the second fan off. My only complaint about the h80i is the stock fans are loud, hence why I took one off.
