Budget of 1500 when i started, added more on as i went
How is that motherboard? I'm trying to pick one between this and UD5H.
Its an amazing board but if you have no use for TH you could do better with say an MSI MPower Z77 board or the UD5H. The Mpower MSI board is put through a Prime 95 burn in test for 24hours as part of QA, I don't know of any other board that has such testing done. The only reason I went with this same board as the Builder here is because it went on sale ;) and to top it off had a bundle combo discount too.
its a great mobo, it black too, theres really no reason to get the 5 over the 4
Decently balanced build for a single GPU setup. Great quality parts, though I agree with someone on the HDD, kind of "meh", I'd have gone with a Caviar blue unless a black was on sale. As long as the fan on your CPU cooler is pushing air through the cooler you are "ok", though I do understand it looks a heck of alot better the way you have it installed vs the standard side mount. If you get interested in overclocking that GPU and need some advice on software for monitoring temps and such or testing benchmarks hit me up: IamApropos
Watch out your and mine 7950 can play Arma 2 at max
Does anyone notice the cpu fan facing towards the video card? you should fix that. but i really like your build, everything balances each other out nicely; Yes unless you have a load of movies to copy it makes sense to have a green drive. but if you're just using it for your games you should have gone with a wd black drive.
the fan pushes up so it pulls off excess heat from the gpu and through the radaitior upwards, no money to replace the drive but im saving up for a black
Nice build, but... your CPU cooler is upside down, which is blowing hot air on your GPU... ouch!
cpu fan is not upside down lol
Well it's facing down, and I didn't mean blowing hot air, but the fan is supposed to face right...
it can face either way
Personally wouldnt have gone with a Green drive, maybe a blue or even black, because you did have $1500 to spend, and it wouldnt have raised it more than $1500. But otherwise, good choice in PSU, very good video card and CPU,Only what you need, and nothing you dont. I like the cable management as well! Very balanced build! I likey :3 Is there a reason for the Green? Dont want to sound mean, just want to know why :)
haha thank you, i realized my folly with the green grive after i purchased it but it still does the job so i i cant complain, ended up taking 2 months to select these parts. thanks for the message :)
