Description

My first PC Build is a gaming and workstation PC.

I had a lot of fun putting it all together, the Fractal Design R4 is a great case to work with. The R5 has some better features and improvements, though it was not out at the time of this build ( November 2014 ). Over all build experience was awesome.

It handles just about any game on Ultra settings at 1080p with at least 60fps. Some games can run at even higher resolution thanks to the GTX980 SC, up to 4k but generally around 1440p for smooth frame rates.

I also use this machine when working from home, running a lot of 3D software like Revit Architecture and Sketchup 2015. I've thrown all of the offices biggest 3D Sketchup files at it and it runs fantastically, thanks to the overclocked i5-4690k at 4.5ghz and the GTX980. I dont have a lot of experience overclocking, but ASUS Z97-A gives you the option to have its own software automatically overclock your CPU. Awesome feature! It worked great.

I wanted to have a clean build and I think I've accomplished that. Possible upgrades in the future, but I am very happy with this machine.

Leave a comment and tell me what you think!

Cheers.

Not gonna lie. I would sell my appendages for a PC and setup this clean.

Sexy man! I need to ask though, wheres the intake fans? Are there even any? Front doesnt appear to have any intake vents. +1

There are two 140mm fans behind the sound dampening front panel, with the intake vents on the side. Any review of the case on YouTube should show it with greater detail!

Yes, I understand, but at the same time. I think we all do it to a point

I will admit, I am a fan of Corsair, there are better brands. However I've had the system for 7 months with no issues! When I do upgrade in the future I will probably go with other brands.

At the time it was the only option for a reference GTX 980 SC, it was out of stock everywhere at launch 7 months ago. And I have considered going with an EVGA psu. Perhaps next time!
