Hi PCPP! I'm aMoor, and this was my first PC build. :)
First of all, let me say that while I know many will scoff at the minimal parts of this build as well as the total cost, it was money well spent. This part list was created for me by Xxplosive, and I feel it's perfect for media storage.
At the start, I made it clear that I wanted something that could stand up to my autistic twins as well as something they can use to learn basic computer skills. In the end, the price was so right I decided to build more than two so as to have custom TV boxes. :P
I managed to get the case for about 15 bucks cheaper by buying one that was dented from Amazon. However, it turned out to be dented not on top of the case as described, but at the back which made it impossible to add the shield for the motherboard. As such, I feel it's safer to use this build in the family room until my son is older. :)
Once I relinquish this to my son, it will be hooked up to his 23" television as well as having a nice wireless keyboard and mouse for him to use with it.
Overall, I have enjoyed building my first PC, and I sincerely thank Xxplosive for helping me with the planning of this build. Hopefully I'll be able to build a nice PC for my birthday in March and share it with the PCPP community!
