Description

Firstly I apologise for the quality of the photos. This is my first desktop gaming pc. Up until now I have been using a lenovo laptop and old desktop. I do a lot of software development and some photo editing but mostly game. I decided with my new job I wanted a bit of an upgrade. I didn't have any games in mind for playing in the future but my large collection of semi demanding games should look and run much better on this machine. I decided the 970 is the best value for my money and chose the msi version because of a recommendation from a friend. 4690k was just because of my budget and being a student I couldnt spend much more cash on this build. Its currently overclocked at 4.2ghz with the hyper 212 evo doing its job just fine. The SSD is my favourite part of the build after having used my comparatively sloth-like old desktop. I spent a little more than I orginally planeed on the mobo but it fitted my red black red colour scheme the best. The ram arrived in one stick which was a bit odd as it was advertised as 2 4gb sticks. It still works fine but just looks a bit strange sat there on its own. Installation and building the machine (with no prior knowledge) was relatively easy. The s340 made cable management a breeze. The cat didnt help matters but curiosity got the better of him. The only issue I had was actually installing windows from a bootable usb drive. I couldnt get the mobo to register the usb so I figured it was a faulty stick. I tried again on another and it worked great. The psu was great and had plenty of options for the money. Would have preffered a semi or fully modular one but hey ho I didnt know. I eventually installed some nzxt sleeved led lights which were cheap and cheerful. The system maxes out all of the games I have thrown at it at 1050p (strange I know but the monitor is old) I plan on upgrading the monitor to a 1080p one and wait out on the whole 1440p thing after the recent debacle. I think I have left sufficent room for upgrading in the future whilst it keeping up with current titles. I use my deathadder chrono and k70 with mx blues for gaming.

criticise comment or anything else. I will be happy to reply to any questions and thanks for looking.

Yeah your right, it just happened to be on the screen whilst I was taking the picture. I meant games more like bioshock, farcry 3, batman etc...

cat not included in parts list. -1

:P jp you got a great setup. I'm torn on whether I should get a 9xx's video card as I have a GTX 780. Maybe I should just wait for the next series. Such is life.

Sorry for the late reply, it is a sticker include with the motherboard. I have since taken it off but I thought it looked pretty cool at the time. One again sorry for the late reply.
