Overview

Hey all. It has been a few years since my last build update and this one is a re-imagining of my original build back in 2016 (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/QVxYcf). Anyways, that's old news, I'd like to tell you about the upgrades since then.

First off, compared to my old post, this one includes all the equipment I use for my rig. Also, some of you sharp eyed folks are probably going, "How the hell did you get some of the parts for X amount of dollars!?" Most of the big ticket items I bought on Facebook or eBay. I'll have a list at the end of what components I got where.

As far as the build went, the only thing of notable interest would be how a SSI/CEB motherboard fit in a Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 5. It fits but covers half of the rubber grommet cutouts for cable management, see pictures for clarification. You'll definitely need right angle SATA cables for some of the connectors on the mobo. Also, fitting the drive bays in the main chamber may prove difficult for clearance based on what I can observe when looking at the mounting holes for said cages.

Future

Other than that, it's been smooth sailing. I know some of you are wondering, "Why do you have a mobo with all those PCIe slots but only 2 are occupied?" Don't worry, this coming Black Friday/Cyber Monday will hopefully fix all that with the inclusion of some PCIe mounted NVMe SSDs. Let's keep those fingers crossed.

Current running specs can be found in the screen caps of monitoring utilities. Feel free to leave comments or ask questions, thanks!

cool build but could use some aesthetic upgrades and cable management. Solid +1

Aesthetic, maybe, I'm not a flashy guy. I care more about performance than things like RGB, etc. Something for me to think about.

As for cable management, I don't know about you but it's pretty good when I compare it to other builds. We also need to keep in mind that the motherboard in there overlaps parts of the cutouts for cable management. This can make certain areas appear scrunched up more than one would like. If you could, I would like to hear what you'd change in this department.

Thanks for the feedback :)
