Description

(This is a serious build that I actually did this time, unlike my Ultra Mega Deathmachine post)

Here's my baby, my first completed build. I got the 2310 for $150, amazing for the price I got it. WEI is in the last uploaded image.

Motherboard got a little bit crammed after the video card was installed but nothing else to expect from the price. I am very happy with it though, Sata 6gb/s and gigabit LAN is uncommon for an H61 board.

Memory is great, 4GB is sufficient as I use this primarily for gaming and a little editing in Vegas.

Storage is good, this has been running for a few weeks and it hasn't failed on me yet.

Video card is AMAZING for the price, I highly recommend it.

I was really unhappy with the 430, I installed some extra Antec TriCools as it only comes with one fan, and though it has great airflow, it has **** all cable management options. I did the best I could with what I had available to me in terms of management.

Power supply is great. Supplies power.

Optical drive is an optical drive. it works.

Windows 7 was Windows 7.

Since PCPartPicker doesn't include taxes or shipping in barely any of the parts listed, this cost me about $900 total in the end. Still worth it. Doesn't go below 60fps on Just Cause 2, Minecraft, Blacklight: Retribution, or any of the games in my Steam library at my native 1680x1050 (steamcommunity.com/id/thedenizen).

I'm using a megashitty Microsoft keyboard and Nexxtech mouse at the moment with horrid headphones, I will be upgrading those three eventually.

Someone needs to redo their cable management.

I plan to at some point, but for now it's fine. Most of the cables are barely in view of the side window.

To the people who seem to not like reading; "I was really unhappy with the 430, I installed some extra Antec TriCools as it only comes with one fan, and though it has great airflow, it has **** all cable management options. There is no place in the back to tuck in cables, nothing. I put effort into it, tied the cables up so they don't hang around all over the place, I did the best I could. How about the parts themselves?

I would have bought instead of an H61 board, a micro ATX Z68 or at least P67 for around the same price. Better features and overclockability if you need to.

Also would have gotten at LEAST an 80+ Bronze PSU. That Antec looks only a little better than a Dynex you can get at Best Buy.

For pricing, you said it cost you ~ $900 total with shipping and such. Subtract the OS and you're around $800. My goal every build is that the CPU/Mobo/GFX should be at least 50% of the budget. So if you balanced it out I believe you would get better parts and performance in the long term.

I agree, I was just trying to keep the price down for the mobo. Z68 would have been better though.

The PSU is 80+ and has good reviews.

So what average fps does your build pull at all settings maxed 1080p resolution in non-modded Minecraft (especially not optifine) Minecraft? It needs to be benchmarked like other games, and I'm making a database for that, so any info would help.

Nice choice on that i5, because a lot of people think that they have to have an i7, but a mid-range i5 works just fine, and I'm glad you didn't squander money on massive amounts of RAM.

Well, I don't run it at 1080p, but at 1680x1050 with Far, x64 java, everything else maximum, vanilla minecraft, it doesn't drop below 60 even when detonating considerably large amounts of TNT.

Thanks, I'll be sure to include that in my database. Happy gaming!

Cable manage! Argh!

The build could do with some serious changes, 'cus it isn't anywhere near as good as it could be.

What are these changes you suggest?

Also; read more next time about the cable management.
