This is one awesome build. One of the best I've ever seen. The PCPP community salutes to you.

LordAnubisCyborg 6 points 12 months ago

this is my view point: PHOTOS: as always, you lights in these fantastic photos very high quality and perfect lighting PC: this is a beast, with a green and white theme that personally are not colors to my liking (for me it is better black and red) but good are your tastes besides that as always you get a good cable management and a very good aesthetics, is also the pc that more money is taken even more than the exion so it shows all your effort VIDEO: I am a subscriber to your channel for quite a while and let me tell you you're doing a great job all powerful lord ed time last videos is perfect plus a music spectacular background for each different computer besides that always file a edition very good.

well now already and I analyzed the photos, the computer and the video is time to give my final verdict which is 9.4 / 10 if one of your best constructions without doubt I took my +1 but I just do not I liked are the colors and why not wear a 10/10 I think that would be all, well done sir ed, greetings from Venezuela (I am very poor and I have a pentium without terjeta video: 'v) sorry if I sound weird xD I'm using google translator

Most builds are sponsored, there isnt real money involved, just parts.

huangtu 2 points 12 months ago

When you say the builds are sponsored does that mean you get to keep the components?

Baesick 2 Builds 2 points 12 months ago

Hey Ed! I'm such a huge fan of your channel, I have a question for you, I have a GTX 970 currently, do you think that I should upgrade to a GTX 1060/1070 or an RX 480 8GB? Or should I wait for the hype to die down and the prices to drop a little? Also, this is what I'm running currently if that matters. :) Thanks!

rhali8 2 Builds 2 points 12 months ago

The GTX 970 is a more than capable card. You don't need to upgrade to anything. The RX 480 only slightly outperforms a GTX 970 anyways. I'd wait for the RX 490 cards to be released. That will be a upgrade worth getting. :D

xDiiThy 3 Builds 1 point 12 months ago

I would wait, especially if your at 1080p.

Enrico411 1 point 12 months ago

Am not ED but: only upgrade if YOU feel that the GTX 970 is not enough for what you are doing. RX 480 and GTX 1060 are not really upgrades from a GTX 970 But a GTX 1070 would be a huge upgrade if YOU think it is needed ;)

Baesick 2 Builds 1 point 12 months ago

I've been doing a boatload of 3D work, and my PC always seems suuuper slow while I do it.

Enrico411 1 point 12 months ago

what are the programs you are using?

Baesick 2 Builds 1 point 12 months ago

Well, for starters, I do those annoying "Gamer-y" intros on Fiverr, using Cinema 4D and After Effects. I also do a lot of projects in Sketchup, Solidworks and Maya.

Enrico411 1 point 12 months ago

GTX 1070 will do well in programs that use the GPU.

Enrico411 2 points 12 months ago

O.O thats one sexy build!!

Great vid to !!

Sees dual RX 480s in the same shot as a computer with dual GTX 1080s

Maaaan, now you're just showing off

LemonComputers 2 points 12 months ago

I think this build will be featured. It has an i7-6950X (a 10-core Extreme Edition), water cooling, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, an Intel 750 series PCIe SSD (probably my favorite SSD), WD Black, two GTX 1080's in SLI, NZXT S340, custom green paint, and LED strips. I really like your part choices and the aesthetics together.

floridaboz 4 Builds 2 points 12 months ago

What can i say Ed. Sweet build and before i even seen it on here, i watched the time lapse and was impressed

StrikerX1360 1 Build 2 points 11 months ago

Not sure if you're the real Techsource or not but even still, I love the builds. I don't know if you remember but I typed up a freakin English Paper long comment about the color scheme xD You should try and make a black and gold build. I really want to make a black and gold build in the Corsair Air 540 because I can use the 5.25" bays as a resevoir/pump combo to save space. Maybe you could try and do so to make my dreams come true?

SnaVz 2 points 11 months ago

iSkeeter 1 point 12 months ago

Galledex... interesting. How did you come up with that name? The build looks fantastic, by the way, simply stunning. I love the channel, too :)

Oh, by the way, I think you messed up on the GPU temperature part. You put 76 idle and 37 load, should that be the other way around?

Lol I was watching your video on this Ed then afterwards logged on to pcpp. I saw this build and was super confused XD thought someone re did your build. But I do love your visa and they have really helped me to learn the in and outs of custom PC building. Keep doing what you are doing! Thanks!

DSA_Echo_ 1 Build 1 point 12 months ago

The most beautiful build I've ever seen that's not custom looped. But even this build gives them a run for their money. Just the little details bring this all perfectly together

jokermike 4 Builds 1 point 12 months ago

loved watching this build being made. i've been thinking about spraying some customer colors within my rig as well. This just gave me inspiration!

CrimsonGhost64 1 point 12 months ago

Why does an overkill build like this only have 32 gb of RAM?

LemonComputers 2 points 12 months ago

32 GB is more than enough.

CrimsonGhost64 -1 points 12 months ago

32 GB is more than enough, but in a computer with a $1700 cpu it seems a little odd that it has a completely normal amount of RAM.

LemonComputers 1 point 12 months ago

32 GB is not a completely normal amount of RAM. Most average computers have 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM at most. 64 GB would be much more expensive and isn't necessary.

CrimsonGhost64 4 points 12 months ago

Dual 1080s and a 6950X are not necessary either.

phooart 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Hi Ed,

Nice build. Again. Always loved your work.

You are the reason I am now a huge fan of the NZXT S340 case and even built one of my own.

Do you have any tips to improve my build? I feel quite satisfied with it but there is something missing and I don't know what it is. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/RDtJ7P

Thanks!

Xxcommander_lamboxX 1 point 11 months ago

Hey Ed i have a question for you what spray did you use to do this beautiful paintshop?

wboghosian 1 point 11 months ago

Hi! beautiful build

Just curious how did you manage to plug the front panel usb 2.0 and the corsair link to the board since the board only has 1 internal usb header?

sieggrain 1 point 11 months ago

No HB Bridge?

markolbb 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

You have any intention of adding some benchmarks? Would be cool to see how far this blows things out of the water. Great build!

psygirl 1 point 11 months ago

Awesome build! I like all of the customization that you did, it's nice, clean and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It also gave me some ideas of how to better customize my future build which I'm planning to have a green and white color scheme.

not_so_drunk 1 point 11 months ago

isnt this the build on tech source?

ryan311 1 point 11 months ago

Edgar/JailBreak, can you provide the cable types, lengths and quantities you used at http://www.v1tech.com/product-category/customextensions for us? I'm not clear on what to get. FYI I'm building everything the same as you minus the PCI HD and I'll be adding a second 3.5 drive (still will have 2 SSDs like you have). Thanks, I really appreciate it.

SUPerGROVer2.0 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

I would have liked to have seen you match the green with the color nvidia uses, but not too bad. I'm little ocd with balance, but you went a step beyond the ordinary. I would take a sharpy or something to your rad, where you smeared the paint. Now, on to the good stuff. . . Some sweeeeet components in that rig! very nice! How are you liking the 6950x? What are you coming from, and what do you use it for? LOL, 4.3 ghz, 10-core i7. . . MIND BLOWN

TheBlackPython 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Do you recomend this CPU cooler? (With stock fans). And what is the highest overclock you think I could get on a 6700k?

PokeCatz 1 point 11 months ago

If this doesn't get featured, I swear... AWESOME job on the pictures. Atleast we can see the PC unlike some other peoples builds ( http://pcpartpicker.com/b/sqMp99 ). This is an awesome build and I can tell you took a lot of time on it. +1

Ricardo_Nixon 1 Build 1 point 6 months ago

This is a really awesome build. I just have one query. How did you manage to hide the Corsair Link Cable that heads from the water block to the mobo USB 2.0??

Dotica 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Absolutely butchered the rad paint... That part of the rad is removable, so next time you go doing that, Try to take it off for better results :) Also, try to be a bit more patient with your SSDs and your NVME drive. The vinyl on the SSDs look kinda janky, maybe try an exacto knife next time. As for the NVME drive, it has too much green and just looks out of place IMO. That part really is up to the viewer, that's just my opinion. But those are minor errors that I am sure you have already realized. The rest of the build looks stunning. You really did a great job with the ram paint as well as the paint on the PCI slots at the back of the case. I actually might do that in my next build. Anyways, great job with the build. Thanks for some inspiration!

joelikespcs 1 point 5 months ago

SamCracker 1 point 4 months ago

JetStream 1 point 4 months ago

Curious about the choice of the Intel 750 SSD, presumably as a boot drive. I understand that they are very, very fast. And more reliable than the M2/PCIe blades, with no 2Gb cache/flush risk etc.

But many expert reviewers have found no significant speed advantage (over a regular SSD/S6) in real-world usage. Perhaps because the Intel/750 series is really designed for punishing data-center use, and not for the SME /Enthusiast.

However, they are certainly a lot more expensive.

Also, your pictures (12,13,14) show the SSD/DIC right up alongside your GPU/1. Does this cause any heat problems? Thanks.

Shibys 1 point 3 months ago

The tubes are kinda wonky, but it's amazing. Kudos to you.

Absolute insanity! It takes pioneers like you to embrace the new technologies and show such a high standard for novices and veterans alike. Respect

sav54 1 point 2 months ago

It's a monster build no doubt probably wouldn't have gone for the founders edition cards but a 1080 is 1080 no matter what skin it has

TechyinAZ 13 Builds 1 point 12 months ago

The new home editions on windows 10 are a LOT more hardware capable than the older windows 7 home premium. Windows 10 home and pro can take advantage of 128GB of RAM or more now instead of home only capable of taking 16GB.
