Description

Gaming Rig. My 1st build. Started out knowing just enough. Runs everything I've tried on highest settings. Definitely an obvious first build but I'm proud of it. Great case but cable management with it can be a nightmare. My gpu isn't pictured in photo as I hadn't removed a drive bay yet to make room.

Interesting on the CPU... why not an 8320 or 8350, but an APU? Interior pics please? Thanks!

im confused with this build. your ram is the same price as your cpu and you bought a overpriced power supply.

you should update this with purchased prices, i dont know where you bought these parts from, so the listed prices from canada is all i can go by. That being said, this is a pretty unbalanced build, you spent on your psu and ram each than you did on your cpu, which happens to be an apu, so there goes the use of integrated graphics. i understand that you bought some peripherals, but its not going to perform like it could. also, i call some serious bs on the temps

  • Why an APU? You have a dedicated GPU, making its integrated GPU useless. You wasted money.
  • 16 GB is a complete waste. 4 or 8 GB is plenty. Again, wasted money.
  • Your GPU choice is fine. 3 GB VRAM I assume you're playing Skyrim with mods or something.

Should have gotten an 8320/8350, maybe even a 3770k with the money you spent on 16GB and that power supply.

Besides that everything else is pretty good, but you have an APU and a GPU, no reason for that at all.

I'm not sure how to put this but your part choices are "interesting"

I didn't read your reply to TheAzureSky until after I posted the comment sorry. But it is still very very strange to see a 7950 paired with an a10 especially on a build over $1000.

Goddamnit man! You spend as much on your CPU as you do on your keyboard. A ridiculously overpriced PSU, crappy mobo, APU in your CPU with a discreet GPU, and too much RAM. Did you ask a single other person what they thought of this build?

EDIT: Also, you have snakes in your tower... Lots of them.

I appreciate when people help me to improve my rig, not when people simply criticize it. Please see my other comments to understand why I chose what I chose.

The only thing I like about this build is the Skyrim map on the wall...

For the actual prices, this build is pretty bad. But I hope you picked things up cheaper and have some sort of reasoning.

My own spending came out to about $800. Keep in mind, the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset come in at around $500

everything I bought was on sale when I bought it. The CPU is capable of playing high quality games and that was my only thought that I put into it. again, the PSU I have is a 600 watt kingwin that wasnt listed. It was $65

The cpu i bought for mine was the cpu only vetsion of the A10-7800k and it was like 70 bucks. You should have done a lil bit more research b4 u bought this. Plus the money u spent on fans u coulf have bought a better case! My first build was in this case and it is crap.

$1400 on an APU build with a discreet GPU....... Dat logic, you should have used the forums and asked for suggestions.

Again, my CPU was a gift. I realize that the discreet graphics go to waste but that's not a concern for me as I didn't have to purchase it.

Don't worry man, these guys give everyone a hard time. Bloggers who do don't perfectly match parts (because they are reusing some, or got some for free) just throw the word "ghetto" somewhere in the title and your ratings will go up, Lulz. <3 Starlana <3

Why do people keep vomiting out the fact that he runs an APU with a discrete graphics card, what do you all thing an i5 or an i7 is........they are APU's aswell.

if this is a gaming rig u should've gotten 8 gigs of ram instead of 16

My CPU was actually a gift so I found it unnecessary to purchase another seeing as it had the processing power I needed for the games I run. As for my choice in RAM, I went with 16gb as I do use over 100 mods for textures and such when playing games like skyrim. I also have two other monitors so I run eyefinity. 16 may have been overkill but better safe than sorry. My exact PSU isn't on the websites database and is actually a Kingston modular extreme m series 600w. Temps as of now aren't correct, my case has internal sensors which I've discovered aren't functioning properly. My CPU doesn't need to be top of the line as even an i5 is adequate for gaming in my opinion.

Please explain how having 16GB of system memory helps when playing games across 3 monitors.

That was a separate thought. I run virtual machines using the ram
