Description

hello! I am hooked on the build bug and wanted to build again, so I made a gaming, programming video editing rig for myself. I called it fire and ice because it is a mix between red and blue. you may see a 560ti in there in the open panel view, but that is gone now.

cpu. cheapest 6 core, overclocked a tad up to 3.6ghz

cpu cooler. Wanted something blue and cool, working well so far

motherboard: looking to go crossfire with the video cards in the future, it had alot of overclocker settings that where great, not to mention asus's rog branding with its awesome red (fire) color scheme

gpu: cool, blue, fast. ok overclocker with the ability to run one of my 4k monitors

ram: upgrading to 16gb as soon as I can, then 32 to make a ram disk

ssd. Fast, and not a bank breaker

hdd, cheep, for all my big files

power supply. got ok reviews and was blueish and 750w

case, big red fan on front. lots of options for bigger liquid cooling setups in the future.

OS. duel booted with arch linux. I would go with windows 8 for the faster boot times, but the ssd takes care of that and its nice to be on the old gui.

Only thing i would reccomend is getting 4 sticks of ram for this board since it's a quad channel and handles that a lot better. Everything else is awesome, good job, how's that 840 evo holding up? I've never seen it or read about it before?

Its a great little ssd. fast and efficient, and cheaper than the critically acclaimed 840 pro series.

Nice pick on the 840 EVO! Just put one of those in my new rig. So fast. I love it. Nice build man!

Yeah no kidding! This is my first time using one in a computer of mine, and I'm honestly floored.

I like the build, but I hate the case. Its just so ugly IMO.

Really, I love the astetics of the case. looks "rugged" to me, just hate the crappy plastic drive bays that make my hdd sound like a banshe.
