All in all, this build was really fun. The most difficult part in piecing together that was most time consuming were the cables. I hope everyone will enjoy the time and effort I put into this build, a real beauty.
That right there is good. I don't want any "you could have got a 1080 @-@"
This right here is well thought out well made and gorgeous +1
He should have.
nakaman - Thank you so much for pointing that out! I had heat from others saying the same thing. There were many factors I thought about going into this build. I am definitely happy with it and I am glad you enjoyed looking at it. Comment is very much appreciated and you have to really appreciated PC for the understanding that its a PERSONAL computer. It's what makes the builder. Enjoy.
Got a name for your build: The Boondock Saint. ; )
Lol. Thats a good one. I think I am going to name it Doomsday when said and done. Thanks for the comment.
beautiful build! With a CPU like the one you chose i would recommend a customized water loop, in your case surely a 360 mm rad fits.... Apart from this splendid rig!
I am defnitely planning on water loop cooled. I just don't have enough experinence with it yet as I just started building PC this year. Thanks for the positive feedback. I really enjoyed building this rig and I am very proud of it.
How's that mobo? Thinking of upgrading from my Z97 to that board next year.
The mobo is working great with lots of features I haven't even really had a chance to play with yet. I will keep posted once I get more intuitive with it. Thanks for the comment.
Mobo still running solid? Interested in one but concerned about a high number of negative reviews (board failures). If it's going well still this much later, I'd guess you won't have issues with it.
I haven't had any issues with mine. Its still running like a champ.
Nice Build Dood! just replied to your comment on my build been out of pocket the last few months...
I was initially gonna go with the Strix on my build then decided on the Ultra Gaming, the Ultra Gaming started giving me issues with cold booting, so I'm RMA'ing it. Picked up the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon (amazing board so far) over the Strix cause of all the bad reviews, many of which said it killed their CPUs (probably user error but still)
Any way how is it, any crazy temps or boot issues?
Really awesome build, gratz!!!
Thanks for the comment. Really fun!!!
Where did you get the sleeved cables from? Nice build too :3
you can get them from amazon, or evga's website
Try cablemod, they have a lot in stock, and categorize the cables in series!
I bought the sleeved cables off amazon. They're EVGA brand and came as a kit. Very nice and heavy duty cables.
Best community ever!
It's so beautiful that i might cry. This is what i like to see!
Props to you.
Thanks for the comment. I put a lot a sweat in this build lol. There are many pc's on here that inspired me to make my own.
Where did you get those corair fans?
Bought them from amazon
Awesome build! I just built a PC using the same mobo and cpu cooler. Which fan header did you connect your H100i into? I connected it to the cpu_fan header but BIOS doesn't show it and can't control the speeds from there or the AI suite.
I connected it to my tower fan hub
Awesome Build this is close to what I'm going to be building with the following edits to core system:
Graphics = 2 x EVGA 980ti Hybrids(1 I've had for 1 yr adding a 2nd should hold me over until 1080ti's are released)
CPU = Broadwell i7-6850k.
CPU Cooler = Corsair H115i
Case = Enthoo Luxe (White)
RAM = 64GB Corsair Vengence LED White DDR4 3200 8x8GB
Question: How's the Asus ROG Strix x99?
I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on it, but I've heard a few things about post being slow, not being able to use the cpu fan for closed loop cpu collers, etc.
I've been hearing the same thing. I am using a fan hub that can be controlled through an app. But I also have used it through asus gpu tweak II. Sounds like you'll be piecing a beast together soon. Good luck, if you post anything on it let me know.
Hey, this might seem a bit silly. But did you put the CPU in with the text upside down and the arrow lining up with the on the motherboard? I can't really tell from your photos... I just recently started building my first PC with the same CPU and motherboard I just need to do the cabling. But I've been concerned that maybe I made a huge mistake with how I oriented the CPU.
CPU can only go in one way. There is a tab on it to prevent this from happening.
Ah, well the latch went down okay and the cpu cooler went on without a problem so I guess it's all good.
No, it can only be put in one way. You wouldn't be able to close it and if you did you prob damaged it.
How's your mobo performing? My Strix X99 killed my CPU... And it doesn't seem like an uncommon problem.
MOBO still performing like it did orginally. I am going to have to research whats been going on, I been hearing about a lot of bad reviews. Seems strange.
Oh crap I brushed at 10:18
damn i was gonna mention the teeth :F
Hahaha funny you seen my kids chores and reminders, I have to write them down so they can read them every day. Gotta love em.
