Description

CPU I bought the 4690k when it was on a disgusting sale at Microcenter (gotta love that place). Very solid processor, have it OC'ed comfortably at 4.2GHz. Runs like a dream.

MOBO Got it bundled with my CPU, and I didn't have any experience with Mobos at all. I figured this Z97 was as good as any for a beginner after reading reviews online after purchase.

GPU Picking the right card took the most time. I waited on a lot of deals and debated whether or not to save for the 390 and go all out for my first build. I decided on this 380 after finding a sweet sale on Jet, and I figured that I would just upgrade my GPU when 4xx and 10xx series cards come out.

CASE This case is sexy as ****. Everything about it is just sleek and beautiful. I LOVE IT

PSU PSU is a bit overkill, and semi modular. I figured it gives me plenty of room for overclocking and sli/xfire if I ever decided to do it.

All in all, great build for a first timer. Nothing feels quite as good as when you turn it on for the first time and it works!!

Need some pics of the fully cabled interior! Looks like a nice build you've got there. No mass storage? If its a pure gaming machine you're probably fine with what you've got on the ssd, just odd not to see at least a cheapo 1TB spinner in there somewhere, for music and movies and stuff.

I'll post some more pics when I change my PSU out (minor coil whine) and add my LED strip in! And I am probably going to add a 1 TB HDD at some point, but for now I really don't need it considering this PC is primarily going to be for programming, gaming and watching Twitch and Netflix.

Nice job! Mine is almost the same except for the case and storage. Its great to know that Im not the only one who has built something like this.

What temps do you get for your GPU? I have a very similar build and get about 65C while idling and 73-77C while playing Overwatch at Epic settings
