Description

LOOKING FOR A NAME... Please post your suggestions.

Additionally, I am getting some feedback/buzzing noises from my monitors any ideas? Please comment.

Radiators, Fans, Res/Pump Setup: I really wanted to fit 2- 240mm rads in this case but could not without modding the case (This I did not want to do). ended up with a 240mm and a 120mm both with exhaust fans on the inside of the radiator. I like the way this looks. All the fans are corsair quiet editions. In order to mount the pump the way I wanted to, I had to take the second fan off the bottom half of the 240mm radiator (See pics). Obviously this decreases the cooling performance, but not significantly. The 240mm rad uses one 120mm fan and the other 120mm is passive cooling. I believe this works well (just not as well as 2 120mm of course).

Will Be Updating Soon. Build is not yet finished.

A couple notes: This is my second build. Previous build was a EATX with a closed cpu loop. This took a LOT more effort.

I am making a custom window for the right side of the case.

I bought the custom wires long in case I decide to use them in a larger build in the future. Thus, there is excess wire. Fortunately the custom window I am building will cover up all of the excess wire.

I know the GPU cooling block says 780 Ti. The GPU is a Titan Black (I promise). I could not find a block that says Titan Black. Will be covering this up somehow and am totally looking for suggestions for this. Please comment on what you think would look nice.

The wire management is not done yet.

I am considering removing the red gpu backplate and replacing it with a black one, and then dyeing the coolant some color. Opinions.

This thing is TOO FAST, and completely unnecessary.

I have not worked on the overclocking of the cpu or gpu yet, just using the optimized defaults on the rog board right now.

This is an old keyboard, and it will be replaced when the k70 rgb comes out.

Any question or request about specific parts or additional pictures feel free to comment. Will continue updating as I finish up here.

I don't know.. if you don't like "Custom modded prodigy" , maybe "W&B Midget build" or "Procrastistation". That last one is very special I plan to use it in my first build!.

Also, how are the 850 pro? It's worth the upgrade?

Have not tested them just yet. Waiting to set everything the way I like it first. Will post when I test.

DID YOU JUST USED THE REAR EXHAUST AS INTAKE? That's what I noticed :D.

I like your build, your budget to be specific xD

  • 1 point

Rear fan is the intake as the front and top rads are both exhausts for the rads.

Is that setup good for air cooling? Whatya think?

I wish I have the same budget :/

with air cooling you can fit two additional 120mm fans (extra on top and extra on front). as I have never done a fully air cooled set-up I will not make suggestions as to which fans should be intakes/exhuasts. I will however say that the prodigy can basically fit anything you want (especially if your sticking to air cooling). 5 fans plus a cpu cooler would prob be overkill and too loud for a build this size.

Thanks for your help :). Might go with 2-3 fans and air cooler.

Great build +1 :D

You should have went with a Corsair 250D it would have had more room.

nice build man +1 from me. just wondering, i got my 4790k last sat. i bumped mine up to 4.7 GHZ its nice and cool at idle (30 degrees) but under load with cinebench it spikes to the mid 80's. have you had any heat issues with yours. i bought some new IC DIAMOND thermal paste and gunna reapply. your cooler is a little better than mine also. you should check mine out if you get a sec.

For anything other than bench marking raising the clock speed that high is unnecessary for my use. However while running the intel burn test I to get a spike to 82 for a split second, very weird, but it goes back to normal temps immediately. I do not think this is a big issue as the temp is high for such a small time. LMK what you think/ have heard.

I reinstalled my heat sync and re-applied some new thermal compound called OC Diamond yesterday and i got my system very cool and stable. I run cinebench and all of my 3d mark software. im atually about to post a screenshot of my results on my updates pics here in a minute. temps are 33 idle and 75 under full benchmark loads now. feeling much better now.

i think it would have been better if u have gotten 2 or 3 gtx 780 ti in your system instead of getting a titan black, it would havee saved u a lot of money

  • 2 points

I considered this but I was doing a mini itx build. Only one slot for a graphics card! Just went for the most powerful single card. Since I wanted 4K I decided on higher ram vs higher clock speed. Besides my titan black is now OC from 980 to 1150 :)
