Description

I ordered all the parts on April 25th, 2012 and finished the build on May 3rd, 2012. My father helped me financially with this computer since it cost around $1,700 all through Newegg. I hadn't heard of PCPartPicker at the time, so I'm sure I payed more there than I would have if I ordered through here. Anyway, I'm posting this now because I had done some recent work with it. The picture all the way to the right was the first attempt of wiring and building when I had first gotten the parts on May 2nd, 2012. The 2nd picture was when I decided to clean and maintain the machine on September 19th, 2013. My father passed away on 5/3/2013 and I figured it would've been nice to take some extra care of the machine. Currently, there's no graphics card in there since on 8/23/13, the HDMI port stopped working. It's 9/30/13 and I'm still waiting for the replacement to arrive.

Anyway, this was my first complete build. Feel free to provide constructive criticism about my wiring and assembly. I don't have an OS listed since I boot Linux and Windows 7 Home Premium and wasn't purchased with the computer.

this is another time I see this but Y are the rubber grommets removed??? you don't want to cut fingers or wires on case?

Mine didn't come with them. If you're talking about those rubber things that help with wire management, then they were never there. As for coming as an accessory, they didn't come with the case.

I'm thinking of using the same cpu cooler, why did you turn it?

I installed it prematurely. It sits much better now. Not to mention that it didn't matter where the exhaust fan was since both my top and back fans pushed air out, so it didn't really change my temps all that much.

good build, i would have probably spent less on the cpu and more on the gpu for gaming, but if you like it then thats all that matters.

My PC wasn't necessarily built for gaming. I was doing a lot of live streaming from my Xbox 360 using a Black Magic Intensity 3.0. I know I needed a good processor and fair amount of RAM with my XSplit and BMI running as well as recording all game play through the BMI software provided.
