Description

I am a 16 year old Aussie and decided to switch from Xbox to PC before the 'Next Generation' games came out. I built this about a month ago with a lot of help from this site but bought all the parts from my local store (PLE Computers). I don't have many games, but so far i've been able to run Crisis 3 and Payday 2 maxed out, full fps (set so it caps at my monitors refresh rate). It took me quite a while to build as all the instructions were useless but when i tried turning it on after about the 5th time and every thing lit up.. ah nothing could beat that sense of satisfaction. If anyone would like photos from different angles or benchmarks i'd be happy to oblige, also if someone could suggest a good upgrade path that would be great, THANKYOU

also in case anyone is interested my mouse is a Razer Ouroboros, and My mat is the Razer Vespula.

Holy Cables! Cable Management.

Totally agree. A Phantom + modular PSU should make the insides look good and, more importantly, improve the airflow to keep everything cool.

Great components, but needs MAJOR cable mgmt.

true, I had trouble getting some cables to reach, but I felt as long as I kept the area which could be seen through the window clean, I would be happy.

To make your build clean. I suggest removing the top hdd cage and put your drives on the lower cage.

And your psu is modular. And those cables can reach. Your GPU needs airflow! XFX Gpu are hotter. Thats why it needs airflow. Your 8-pin mobo connector can go through at the back.

Im just dissappointed to see a One of the best mid tower case to have no good cable management.

Your just like wasting the 55% of the case functionality. 40% for Airflow 15% cable management

Not sure how that board is wired, but you may want to move the GPU to the top slot and the sound card to the next one down.

I was under the impression that they were two separate connections.. could be wrong, first build.

Run GPU-Z to check and see if your GPU is running at 3.0 x16. If it isn't you need to switch your sound card and your GPU.

I've been eyeing a decent soundcard for a while now, how do you like that one?

I am pretty new to computers so this question is retarded but what is a sound card

It's basically just an external card to (usually) give you better audio than your motherboard's onboard audio.

I'm loving it so far, it definatley adds more bass to my astro a40s which like most gaming headsets lacked in the bass department.

I gotta ask, how is the 7970? I was thinking of doing that for my build, but when I had money for it, the 7970 I was looking at went off sale.

Loving, as I said it's hit everything I've thrown at with ease maxed out and great fps, i would recommend every part of this build, nothings let me down so far (except cable management)
