Description

I built this for my grandparents. They badly needed a PC. They had been using a PC they bought back in 2004. I think they will like this. It is a massive upgrade from their old machine. I used my old 560 and my old HTPC's i-3. I would like this to last them for awhile that's the whole reason I put the 560 in there. I had no other use for it so why not. I haven't been able to take any temps yet that's why I didn't put them up there. Criticism is welcome. If you have any thing you think I should do better please tell me. Thanks. =). Btw sorry for the lack of pictures more are coming. I also couldnt find my 560 model on here so its a different model in the part list.

im sure your grandma doesn't need a gtx 560 for everyday computer usage. Nothing like the occasional GTA5 to suit your elderly needs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Knab9oQIMOQ

OMFG, that just made my night. I laughed so hard I'm crying, have a headache, and almost peed my pants. That is so "elderly me"...:)

Starlana loved that. <3 <3 <3

Question: Windows 8 or Windows 7? Cause 8 might cause them to throw this out the window 8 times before it goes into the trash.

Windows 7. I honestly did not think they were ready for windows 8. hahaha

hahah I agree. Windows 8 is just way to confusing to some people.

Not if you install StartIsBack. Makes Win8 look like Win7, and function like a faster Win7. :p

Could just install win 7 and have that start button by default. I like windows 8 i have it but for people who aren't into new things windows 8 is the worst OS of them all. Trust me try teaching people how to use win 8 who are obsessed with win xp.

I installed Win8 on my grandmothers new computer, and she pretty much knows the basics.

Where did you get the HAF XB on sale?

My local Microcenter does these sales to get rid of stuff theyve had laying around for awhile and this was one of the items they had.

I have a friend in her 60's that still games on World of Warcraft. I can see the 560 :-).

I just had it laying around and I wanted it to last them a very long time. First thing my Grandfather said was" DO YOU SEE HOW FAST CNN POPS UP" I think he was excited.

I appreciate that you did this for them but don't you think that they would like to overclock? They will be playing BF4 I assume so you might want to get them the i5 3570K and some water-cooling and maybe a GTX 760 ?

Do they live close or do you remote their computer to help them?

I would suggest just using the i3 integrated graphics; it's actually fairly powerful for anything but gaming and video editing, hell I've run TF2 and similar on this well.
