Description

multi purpose pc for gaming, video editing, photo editing, ect...780ti runs like a champ...i made a mistake with the define R4 all though its a beutiful case it is to small for my needs and the EATX mobo coverd my wire gromets so i couldnt get good cable managment plus i plan on SLI ing my 780ti,it just felt cramped so i rebuilt in the NZXT SWITCH 810....

If you don't overclock this, you deserve a slap.

Honestly I would be scared to oc a $500 cpu when it's already faster then pretty much everything on the market by a mile.

That's why OP got an H100i and a RIVE Black Edition.

Great build! The soundcard is useless in my opinion but everything else is great.

Nice build. You going to try and OC?

Why did you go with 7 ultimate instead of pro?

maybe he uses the extra features?

I might be wrong, but I thought the only thing ultimate has over pro is bitlocker and that language mulitpack. So yeah maybe.

That and a couple others things but usually half the time it's just torrented copies

That's not a Define XL R2. It's a Define R4.

+1 for making a full tower case look small.

thanx for the input guys, this is a fairly new build so i might be tweaking a few things in the next few days but all in all im happy with it. Yes, im overclocking the cpu and gpu and the case is a define R4 but i couldnt find it for some reason on the parts list,im using ultimate cause i got a deal on it no other reason or i would have gone with pro like i always do and the mobo is pretty much the same as the rampageIV extreme with a few minor tweaks mostly on the onboard audio which is irrelevant for me cause i always use a sound card,if you already have an original rampage IV no need to upgrade but if your buying it new i absolutely recomend it and the 780ti is the fastest single GPU ive ever owned its a touch faster than the titan at stock speeds, hope this answerd your questions and thanx once again for your input

With all that RAM, have you tried using Asus's Ram Disk Software? If so, what has been your experience with it? Is it worth getting the extra RAM?

if your video editing and gaming like i am sure its worth it but worth it only for the editing side of it. gaming is fine with 8 gb this build is faily new so there are other things im still working on so no i havnt had a chance to try it yet

Honestly..I don't really see any more space for SLI if u r using G10 water cooling. But nice build

Maybe mount the second X40 beside the psu i guess

And why did the h100i change into X60 in the last two pics? I'm not too impressed with Corsair, I kinda want a X60 now

thanx ,when i posted this build i the G10 wasnt even produced yet and i wanted the 140mm coverage rather than the 120mm coverage that the corsair provided...but i think there is room for another G10 as rear exuast if i take my time

Thank u for the fast reply. I just have another question. Like since u are planning to SLI, is there any point of this because u have a 60 FPS 1440p. 780ti can max out games like bf4 a bit over 60 FPS, that means u cant notice any change when SLI. I have the same monitor also almost the same build, I find a 120 hz monitor would be a lot better personally after a month experiencing PB278Q. I wouldn't recommend SLI if it's single 60 hz, u can if u get 1 extra monitor or replace with 120hz. I look forward to the new Gsync asus PG278Q (120hz 1440p). Really amazing build again, I have the same specs except I have one EVGA Kingpin 780ti, corsair h100i, 1000w XFX and phantom 820.

hi there, I bought this motherboard and I thought the audio is suppose to be "supreme ROG FX" ? I see realtek?

  • 1 point

all the new asus mobos have really improved there on board audio alot but its still not as good as a mid to high range sound card especially when you have surround sound to your pc ,thats just me tho

  • 1 point

nono what I meant was, because I always saw RealTek in other motherboards, and Had it on my old computer and I thought it sucked, and reason why I chose the black edition is because it said it has "Supreme ROG FX" not realtek, but once installed drivers it says RealTek Audio for the Asus black edition motherboard?? Did I get Scammed?
