Man molex to PCIE adapter should be a last resort not a preference!!

You are using the wrong cables for your video card. You have to use the PCIE cables that came with the PSU. Using the molex to PCIE adapters is more likely to fry your system and is a bad idea.

why all these molex adapter for powering the gpu?

yeah, that psu should definitely have the cables

I extremely confused by this as well. I've never seen a PSU that didn't come with the cables for at least 1 GPU.

I think he's just using the wrong cables. The PSU has 4 PCIE cables.

mabye he likes the cool black sleved whires on the adapters! i do. looks pretty nice, but its crap for airflow :P

Problem is you aren't supposed to do it. You are more likely to fry your gpu by using the molex adapters.

I almost did this. My thought process at the time was that since they put them with the GPU I should use them, but I reexamined the PSU and made the correct choice.

Is the mobo in the pictures a newer revision of the one in the parts list? I really like the aesthetic improvements!

its revision 4 (really 5) only difference is VRM cooling changed again

I was just wondering if anybody has noticed the use of the Molex connectors to the GPU?

I hope the message is received and things get corrected. I like the build. I too would like to see and alternate CPU cooling solution.

i would love to know what sort of boot time you are getting.. i have just bought a similiar setup except my mobo is a Ga-970a-ud3 but my boot up times were like 25 seconds :( ive managed to get it down to 18 by disabling the other boot options but ive seen this ssd performing so much faster on many videos ..

When did you order your motherboard?

Thinking of going with the same case; how are you liking it so far?

how's the ventilation for the case?

I am not OP but I have the same case.

You need to add another intake fan, or else the airflow isn't very good. My temps went down 6c when I added another intake. It would work even better if you replaced all the fans with high quality ones.

lol, surprise to see someone reply to my 9 months old post.

Oh well, I went for other cases anyway, thanks for the info btw.

How's the CPU cooler? Does it fit? Did you have any problems with it? What are the expected temperatures? Because I got this case and I want to know if the Hyper 212 Evo would fit to replace my stock CPU cooler

Just ordered a similar setup. I will be building in the next couple of weeks and I'm kind of worried because I'm getting a warning that the cooler will not fit in the case. We shall see.

I'm building mine next month with the exact same GPU and case, so it's nice to see how my build will be looking. Impressed.

Now all you need is to slap a good CPU cooler on there and OC it to at least 4.5ghz. Also why the Molex on the GPU?.
