Description

I know, I know... The title sucks, but that's all this PC is. It's just something temporary so I don't slit my wrists this summer. :)

CPU and Mobo were both bought from a kid for $80 combined. Already had the CPU cooler from another project that's on hold. Memory was bought from a friend who just upgraded. HDD is my ol' faithful WD Red 4TB. SSD was leftover from an old Dell laptop, but it still works, so f*** it. Video card was bought used (guy wanted $200, but I talked him down to $150). Case is leftover from another more different project on hold. And the PSU was bought used for $70. The 4K monitor is new, but I didn't pay anything for it... So I had my Korean 1440p monitor for sale for $250, and some guy offers to trade me his 4K monitor, or $350... So I went for the monitor. It's not great (the colours need some work), but it's nice to finally be able to watch 4K **** on a native 4K display. :)

So yeah... I put in less than $400 and now I'm playing GTA V on Normal/High settings at 1080p. Suck it, console n00bs! #PCMasterRace

P.S. Don't mind the messy desk. I didn't feel like cleaning it to take pics for 20 seconds.

P.P.S. Also, regarding the lack of pics, I don't have boxes for anything, and it wasn't all bought at the same time, so I didn't feel like taking a couple pics every week for a month.

P.P.P.S. For those asking about the system monitoring app, it's called Rainmeter. And the skin I use is called Simply Nova by "NovaSev".

P.P.P.P.S I have updated the temps, using EasyTune6 (I do NOT recommend this app, but it came with the mobo and is the only utility that doesn't give 90C+ temps under load). Idle temp is a bit more reasonable now, and load temps (read after 3 hours of GTA V) are much better.

How is the performance of the CPU? I have an AMD Athlon X4 860K (2nd Gen version of 760K) and im just wondering how well the cpu is holding up the GPU in terms of gaming.

Well, I'm currently running a mix of Normal/High settings in GTA V and haven't seen the framerate dip below 40FPS yet. A buddy of mine has an FX-4100/R9 270 combo and his system runs about the same as mine in-game.

I still have yet to test out more games, but when I do, I'll update my original post.

Yeah, I might reseat the heatsink, but so far it's held up. Vcore and temps are all over the place with this CPU though, so I might have to tinker with some BIOS settings.

Wish there were more pictures of the build itself.

I've worked with that case, and I'd just like to testify that the thing is a tiny bomb shelter, but can be difficult to work with. Good work on the cable management.

I love this case so much. I just wish I had a tower-style CPU cooler.

Also thanks. :)

Planning on doing a special build in an xbox with pc parts, by the looks of it it will but will the cpu cooler have the clearance?

If you're asking if my CPU cooler would fit in an Xbox build, I'd have to say that I have no idea. If you want maximum compatibility, I recommend picking up the Noctua NH-L9I (NH-L9A, if using an AMD CPU). Not the best for performance, but definitely the best for small form factor builds, due to the tiny size.
