Yep.. this is beautiful. High five OP, you've done good work!

heyDB 1 point 36 months ago

Is it possible to have 6x4 4gb's of ram on x99a msi gaming 7 mobo?

skemble 24 Builds 3 points 36 months ago

I would think that config would work just fine. You might consult a manual first though as I don't have any experience with that board.

cwuzzell 16 points 38 months ago

There are approximately 1,025,109 words in the English language. I could not figure out how to put them together in a way that expresses my lust for this PC.

staffsMike 9 points 38 months ago

Good God! That's the best Build I've seen all year.

joelhowell 6 points 38 months ago

Probably the most beautiful build I have ever seen on this website! I love this so much! THIS IS FRIGGEN AWESOME!

Arkwoman1990 1 Build 5 points 38 months ago

Such a beautiful amazing pc

elvenson 5 Builds 4 points 38 months ago

thats a masterpiece. The price is wild, but so is the parts list. It can be easily justified for a beastly 3 x 290x cf and 6 core i7... and it just looks gorgeous. well done sir.

ii-NineCents-ii 1 Build 3 points 38 months ago

Beautiful PC, just cant stop looking at it. The colours look awesome together. What kind of FPS do you run at Ultra 4k? Keep up the amazing work!

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 2 points 38 months ago

Much appreciated. I only actually received the 4K monitor (iiyama PROLITE B2888UHSU-B1) yesterday, so I've yet to play with it properly!

ii-NineCents-ii 1 Build 2 points 38 months ago

Keep us posted! :)

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 2 points 38 months ago

Testing BF4 last night. On ultra settings with 2x MSAA ~90 fps, with 4x MSAA ~70 fps.

ii-NineCents-ii 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

At 4k? That's amazing, you have yourself a beast of a machine. See? You don't need Titan X's to game at Ultra 4K! Enjoy your PC!

INSANETAZ 1 point 37 months ago

seeing this makes me feel like I ****** up on my build for just having one 980TI... lol

wpd900 3 points 38 months ago

this **** is fire +1

Amazian 3 points 38 months ago

Custom loop builds are always fun seeing especially if they look as sexy as yours. Gorgeous PC man +1

monkeybars 3 points 38 months ago

I know very little about custom loops, but I'm trying to figure out how this works from a cooling perspective and would love to get a bit of an explainer so I can try to understand.

Starting at the reservoir, the coolant flows down into the radiator to get cooled, then heats up as it goes through the GPUs, then heats up more as it goes through the CPU, then gets cooled through a radiator, then goes into the motherboard and then out to the reservoir again.

My question is, wouldn't it make more sense to run the coolant through a radiator after the GPU loops, and before the CPU?

So it would be: Reservoir > Radiator > GPU > Radiator > CPU > Mobo > Reservoir

Just curious, not meant as an attack (I hate that the combative nature of Internet commenting forces me to clarify this).

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

The factor you aren't taking into account there is the flow rate. The coolant flows so quickly around the loop, each ml of coolant doesn't actually pick up (and subsequently drop off) that much heat. Therefore the difference in temperature in various points around the loop is actually quite small (usually no more than about 4ºC).

monkeybars 1 point 38 months ago

Wow, I'm surprised going through all that barely heats it. What kind of coolant is it, just water?

tejadam868 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

if you were to use water it needs to be distilled , with an additive so that algae/mold doesn't become an issue. But you can order different color coolants online that already have anti-corrosive additives in it already.

Giddf76 2 points 38 months ago

Skylake?

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

It's Haswell-E

joelhowell 1 point 38 months ago

Skylake isn't much stronger so I would suggest Haswell!

WaterTriber 1 point 38 months ago

Do you have a backup drive for your pc?

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Yes I have a 4TB extenal backup that I keep tucked away, and I also use SOS Online Backup.

Huddy40 1 point 38 months ago

Do you run into many compatibility issues with the crossfire? I've been wanting to get another 290x for crossfire but past crossfire experiences have jaded me.

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Most modern games have decent crossfire support. Maybe not the newest releases immediately upon release.

Huddy40 1 point 38 months ago

Fair enough, I would be curious how your build runs in 4k and how much that 3rd card get used.

boss1234100 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

crossfire actually works better than sli like for example fury x in two way or three way beats 980ti

Huddy40 1 point 38 months ago

I understand that but I'm more concerned about compatibility rather then overall power. Doesn't matter how powerful something is if its not supported by the game itself. I use to run crossfire and when it worked it worked great but it seemed like a majority of time in my experience it wasn't supported.

cakeman123 1 point 38 months ago

Link to cable combs? I can't find any cheap ones anywhere! They charge so much for a piece of plastic.

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

These are from www.e22.biz

auldae 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Alphacool should be thanking you. Actually, I'm sure they did. +1

vekspec 3 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

omg! such pretty purple! I like it! :))

Twee 6 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Mine is gonna be similar but in a smaller case :3 glad i'm not the only one whos doing purple liquid cooling :D it looks beautiful. my cable sleeves are purple and white :D

frankiebowman 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

That color scheme is absolutely gorgeous!

Atron 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

******* it, I was planning on a purple build soon but you beat me to it :(. That said you probably did a better job than I wuld have and with far better parts, I would give you +10 if I could

SpicyPickle 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

It's always good to see someone branch out from the black/red or black/blue norm. Especially if it's done as elegantly as this!

+1

humdawg 1 point 38 months ago

This makes me think of how kids often say "When I'm rich and famous, I'm gonna have a mansion!"

Because, when I'm rich and famous, I'm gonna have a build like this.

Fsylar 1 point 38 months ago

Ah ah ah ah ah ah your majesty....speechless wow

Fsylar 1 point 38 months ago

Where the hell did you get 290x at 259. It cost me 469 to import one to kenya.

erickdiaz84 3 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Outstanding build man! Would love to see some benchmarks on the graphical performance on those 290's at 4k. I do sort of wonder why you went with the 290x over the 390x however, seems like 8gb of vram would be exactly what you'd look for in a 4k build.

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Testing BF4 last night. On ultra settings with 2x MSAA ~90 fps, with 4x MSAA ~70 fps.

CamyHunt 1 point 38 months ago

This is by far the nicest and best looking PC I have seen so far! Good job, +1

Tooth 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Awesome! Your wiring, with a couple of strands of purple really blends in nicely. Well done.

Curious, 4K gaming, but no mention of your monitor? Or did I miss it? What monitor you using and your experience in that "search". I am seriously looking at 4K monitors for my next pc upgrade.

Again, nicely done :)

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Thanks for comments. I'm using an iiyama 4K and a 144 Hz monitors. I couldn't find iiyama on PCPP?

convertedconsolegamer_92 2 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Awesome price on the 290x GPUs!!

plgdg 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

What dye did you use?

Patgm193 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Never seen a black/purple color scheme before, very nice.

ShaderX 1 point 38 months ago

Amazing Build!

SquareOreo 1 point 38 months ago

Alphacool fanboy much? <3

malymilo 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Ghostface and Raekwon are proud of you! : )

Meithen 2 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Now that is a clean build! The purple turned out great, is this a client build or one you'll use yourself?

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

At the moment it's my main rig. I'd consider selling it though!

silentgamer1 1 point 38 months ago

man this is soooo good at first i thought im like google images but then im like nah legit nice build man haha

TREVOR5858 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Forester 1 point 38 months ago

*looks at current build and cries

SquareOreo 1 point 38 months ago

Do you have any issued with the motherboard?

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Not that I've noticed, anything you're aware of?

United_cat_turf 1 point 38 months ago

You trying to open up a wind turbine company with all those fans

Eltech 20 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Absolutely beautiful... You deserved the feature spot and you have my plus one.

Chromedus 1 point 38 months ago

One of the prettiest computers I've seen in a long while. +1 dude, awesome job

jordanah2 1 point 38 months ago

This is great. One HUGE issue; I'll never be able to afford one of these. :(

Vigomi 2 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

As a person whose favorite color is purple I whole heartedly approve of this.

DrTot 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

ah, I just love out-there color schemed builds, they always look beautiful, The Red/Black Blue/Black gets pretty boring. I'm saving up for an orange build right now. The purple go so surprisingly well with a PC, I love. I really hope someday somebody makes a TRULY rainbow build. That would be, fabulous. +1

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 2 points 38 months ago

I was very close to making orange or yellow for this one. But jayztwocents skunkworks was so good, I wanted something completely different.

syntaxerrur 22 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Gosh dangit! Did you really have to do the full purple loop before me!! All jokes aside, great looking build! I can now ask you tips and tricks when I start my first custom loop. This build turns me on...

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Thanks dude. Feel free to ask for advice, though I'm more likely to see it on my Facebook page. Cheers

madmidgett 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Galvatron would approve.

PumpSome 1 point 38 months ago

Looking at the thumbnail I thought the price would be twice the price of that. Beautiful PC. Great parts

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

To be honest the price is actually lower because I just left the default in, but in reality I got the GPUs before the 390X release when the price was low.

Mariomash 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Bruh this is a amazing! Purple looks nice XD

my only question is why didn't you go 390x instead of the 290x?

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

I got two of the cards a while ago. Then when the 390X was released, the difference in price just wasn't worth it for me. So I got the third on eBay for about £190.

Mariomash 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Oh if XD I was wondering cause them 290x's will reveal noticible changes to ur power bill, ENJOY THE PC THOUGH! May it last toy years to come XD

Zenoaxs 1 point 38 months ago

-1 not enough LEDS. Just kidding, +1.

Such a sick cooling setup! Good job man.

tanyskippy 1 point 38 months ago

WOW! That build is solid in looks and perfomance! Good Work... I wish I had the money to build something like that

mxpx4182 1 point 38 months ago

THIS is insanity. love the color scheme.

kmarshak 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Wow. Truly impressive. Awesome build sir/madam.

JLMCS2012 6 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Nice work! Purple was next on my list.

xVSxOpticalScope 1 point 38 months ago

Where do you find the custom colors for the Power supply?

caputoj 1 point 38 months ago

that right there is one BEAUTIFUL computer. i cannot say how amazing that computer is. that right there is my dream computer

NickWinston123 1 point 38 months ago

What about the compatibility issues though?

Corsair Professional Gold 1200W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply may not provide sufficient wattage. The estimated part list maximum power draw is 1246W.

Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor does not include a stock CPU cooler. Adding a CPU Cooler to your part list is recommended.

The motherboard M.2 slot #0 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6Gb/s ports are disabled.
DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 2 points 38 months ago

None of those are real issues.

  1. The power draw never goes above 800 W. The estimates are usually massively over.

  2. Using a waterblock, no CPU cooler needed.

  3. There are many SATA ports, plenty to use all the drives and the M.2.

NickWinston123 1 point 38 months ago

Oh cool, Thanks for the reply! Very nice build. Do you think there is an equivalent to all these parts in blue or green? Also if I decided to go with a build very similar to the one you greatly created would it work very well with a tri-monitor type display playing gta5 and other heavy games?

lxyfutures 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Soooooo pretty. Makes me want to cry. Looks like a artware, not a PC

J13DLM 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Absolutely stunning; most amazing build I've seen to date. I'm in love with the colors. Fantastic work on everything dude.

tejadam868 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

my favorite color. so clean. so nice. i need.

hdiraddo 1 point 37 months ago

Would you recomend the 900d for me. I want to watercool in the future with at least 2 480 rads with 2 980ti's on the x99 platform. (PETG tubing cuz i dislike flexable) or is the enthoo primo better???

xcessi 1 point 37 months ago

Awesome indeed! Can this be built with the Fractal Define R5? https://pcpartpicker.com/part/fractal-design-case-fdcadefr5bko

dawg1503 1 point 37 months ago

Nice overkill build, but I have a few questions. What is the fan configuration, why only a 5820k, and why an Msi x99s

TheGoldenMagikarp 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

I give you serious credit, this is one of the sickest builds I've seen on pc part picker. However the question remains; with all of that power, what is this pc's bottle neck? Not to say that the computer is sluggish in any aspect or bottle necked majorly in any category, it is extremely well balanced as far as I can tell. I'm asking just for speculations sake and personal curiosity. Every pc has one part that is just a little bit behind the rest no matter how well balanced, but by balancing it good you make it so that the one part doesn't interfere by dragging any other part down in performance with it. So what is that one part?

pulltabking1971 1 point 37 months ago

Absolutely beautiful build!!

jcleary47 1 point 37 months ago

Do you have a diagram for your watercooling setup? It looks like it goes Reservoir > Lower Radiator > VGA 1 > VGA 2 > CPU > Top Radiator > Chipset > Reservoir.

Are the pumps down below before or after the bottom radiator?

iCalvus 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Ohey, A purple Skunk Works! (j/k) Looks very good, well done. Just a thought, if you went with white case lighting it would make the purple in the case pop.

heyDB 1 point 36 months ago

Is it possible to have 6x4 4gb's of ram on x99a msi gaming 7 mobo?

Galen 1 point 36 months ago

I got to say (write) ... This thing is wickedly beautiful, of all the builds I saw so far, it's the most clean and well constructed, btw; how is the XFX behavior in heat without the liquidcooling (assuming that you test them before re assemble?) my references aren't that cute sadly, but the fact you choose them trickets me, congratulations again *!

ItsWaterings 1 point 35 months ago

I love the black and purple. Amazing Cable Management by the way.

gamerred 1 point 35 months ago

So... Like what I don't inderstand is the 4 fans on the very bottom? I don't understand why/how they're there.... Are they to cool the rads? Then how if there's no fresh air right there???? If someone would explain I'd be thank full

whitechapelkilla 1 point 35 months ago

how do you run 3 gpu's in crossfire, i thought the 5820k could only use 2 due to the 28 bus lane

madurham84 3 Builds 1 point 34 months ago

Wow, this is the best build I've ever seen! +1

SpecificAlduin 2 Builds 1 point 33 months ago

What fluid is that? For some reason I couldn't comment on this build when it was posted.

Cwooley 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Omg -_- gimme dat

Adi_Nastase 1 point 32 months ago

Hey, would this step with 2 480rad be enough for 5930k and 980ti sli water-cooled? Should I add another 240 on the bottom. I have the corsair 900D

angeloabary 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

BREATHING INTENSIFIES....

bworkman90 1 Build 1 point 31 months ago

I love love love this build. The color scheme is amazing!

Light777 1 point 30 months ago

Which coolant did you use????

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

hi it's a custom one, Mayhems purple with some red and blue dye added

Light777 1 point 30 months ago

Thank you

GoodGuyShaco 1 point 30 months ago

Wow

Nicherity 1 point 30 months ago

I'm aware this is an old build, but did you have any issues in terms of building the pc. As I plan to use this build, But I just wanted to be sure everything is compatible. Thanks <3

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 29 months ago

Nope, all went to plan! Good luck :)

floridaboz 4 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

That bottom plate between the psu and the motherboard just really set this build in the right direction. Many other things as well. BUt that is something that really stood out to me, great work.

omaredabed 1 point 29 months ago

... this is just insane!!! good job!

death9251 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

sleepyxtomoko 1 point 6 months ago

how many fans did the case come with? not trying to get into water cooling rather stick with fans but how many fans can you fit?

blackout1231 1 Build 0 points 38 months ago

All that awesome for under 3k? I call ******** on that lol

Awesome build=O

DarwinPC submitter 4 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Thanks. It would actually be less but the 290X new are overpriced now the 300 series have been releases. I got them before that though!

boss1234100 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

am wondering why not the 390 or 390x with them being able to overclock higher?

iansane 0 points 38 months ago

With all those fans, you could use that as a fridge

CowsGoRoar 2 points 38 months ago

All those fans are just extracting heat from the radiators.
