Title: I wanted a nice title that went well with this build so I decided to call it Serra which means saw in Latin.
CPU: The CPU I choose because i already had it in another computer that was my daily driver. When I started to plan this build I wanted to keep my cost for the new PC down so I decided to reuse this CPU. Also during the process of creating this PC my brother Birthday was happening so I decided to give my old PC to him as a present. He does light gaming (LOL and WOW) so I knew that he would not need the 4770k. I replaced it with the G3258 ( http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646g3258 ). This CPU is working perfectly for him and was a great value since it can be overclocked. I overclocked the CPU to 4.2 Ghz with a Hyper EVO 212 ( http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 ). The 4770k works great for my needs of gaming (BF4, Titanfall, Crysis, and COD) and some video editing.
Cooler: I decided to go with a AIO water cooling solution because of height and size restrictions in my case but I did not want to have to compromise in the thermals department. I chose the H105 cooler because only a 240mm rad would fit and it was an updated version of the H100i. Also my theme for the computer is red and black because of the case and the H105 has changeable colors for the heatsink/pump.
Case: That main component of this build is the case and everything is centered around it. The case itself is the outer case for a POWR KRAFT table saws from the 1940's and I found the whole saw on craigslist for $10 including the motor. It's basically a 12" x 12" x 12" cube. I have been finding old table saws and other types of saws from the early 1900's to 1950's and fixing them up for over two years now. I saw this table saw and right away I thought I could make a really cool computer out of it. The back panel and motherboard tray where taken from a computer I picked up at Goodwill for $5. It came with a psu, disk drive, motherboard with hdmi, cpu, and heatsink. The piece under the io panel is used to let some hot air out so it is not trapped under the motherboard.
Motherboard: I went with the ASUS Gene VII because of the color and all the features it packed into a small board. I get the great ASUS ROG features with it also. Also if I ever want to I can SLI in the future. The built in sound card works great and matched with surround sound headphones. This motherboard works perfectly with a great PC in a small package.
Memory: What can I say Kingston makes great memory and it matched the theme. I will be using the 16gb for video editing and it is a tad overkill for gaming atm.
Storage: With the case being what it is there are no drive bays so I knew I had to get creative. I needed light and small drives so I was left with 2.5 inch drive. I also like keeping it simple and having one drive so I decided to bite the bullet and pick up a 1TB SSD. I have not been disappointed with this decision although it is really more like 930GB not a full 1TB.
GPU: Again I went with ASUS not only because of the theme but also the how quiet this card is during normal use. The fans dont start until the temps on the GPU are over 50 degrees Centigrade. Works great and it is nice that it only take one 8 pin connector to power. For what I am gaming at (1080p) this GPU is more than enough.
PSU: What can I say this PSU is literally one of the only ones that would work with my build. It has the footprint of a 120mm fan which works perfectly for my setup. If I upgrade in the future I will most likly get this ( http://www.tomshardware.com/news/silverstone-sfx-l-sx700-lpt,29179.html ) so I can SLI.
OS: Not much to say works great and I get a free upgrade to Windows 10.
Fans: Noctua makes some of best fans so it was a no brainier going with them. I have two F12 pulling air though the H105 and one as a straight intake. The A8 is an exhaust fan in the back top. It my be hard to notice but the Acrylic on the top of the case is raised about 5mm above the edge of the case so that hot air can flow out of the case. Yes this build is heavily reliant on positive pressure inside the case so that hot air gets pushed out and it seems to work as temps have never been uncomfortable even after hours of stress testing.
