Description

Hello and thanks for cheking out my build! So, I'm 14, and my old pc with a core 2 and a 560 ti was quite... dead, and I decided to get a new pc for around $1150. I would've liked to get a 1tb hdd, but my budget wouldn't let me. Hope you enjoy!

CPU: Easy choice, really. I've Heard great stuff from skylake, and I thought why not just join the skylakemasterrace :p. I could OC mine to 4.0ghz with 1.2V. I'm not the best at overclocking though, so I could probably lower that vcore, but I'm fine atm.

GPU: I have Always liked nvidia over AMD, until now. Now is the time when amd actually beats nvidia, and I wanted to support AMD, too. I got the ASUS one for 1999kr, or ca $220 (I'm Swedish) which is a steal here in Sweden. It runs really cool and quiet, too. Right now it's ideling at 45c with 0 fan speed. Really great card overall, and would really recommend this over the 960, which was my original plan. I also raised the core clock by 10mhz to reach the 1ghz clock rate for the lolz.

Case: When it first arrived it just screamed sexyness, and the building experience was a dream. HArdly any Cable management at the back, nice area for a ssd at the front, which also covers those ugly gpu cables. I like the psu shroud, and how it shows the text. Perfect for 160mm psu's, like mine. The best thing about this case though is the radiator mounting bracket. It helped me so incrediby much! I could just slide it out, attach the radiator and fans, slide it back in, and attach the pump. I also couldn't get the cpu fan cable in the pins, but since the bracket was there I could just easily slide it out to get enough space to plug it in. The bracket is also a very good spot to hide your cables from your pump.

Overall I really love my new pc. Feel free to comment! You could also add me on steam if u wanna play csgo or ask more questions.

Steam: hugopower02 or Xetion

nice build.. Very clean. I like the black with minimal red accent makes it solid to look at.

Only thing is that it is extremely reflective, and I can't get a good picture of it with my iPhone, and since it is so reflective, none of the components will be shown :c

Don't need more. I still have 70gb left. I only play csgo and record some videos, so I got that, and it's a lot quieter!

Then it seems like a solid build, but hows the performance of the r9 380 at 1080p or 1440p

The r9 380 is great for 1080p, but I wouldnt recommend it for 1440p

Yo dude! nice build! I've got the 6600k as well and just purchased an R9 380. Just incase you were wondering, you can get your CPU alot higher :D Dont be too scared!

Here is a link to some stats about overclocking the 6600k. http://www.overclock.net/t/1570313/skylake-overclocking-guide-with-statistics

I've got mine sat happily at 4.5GHz 1.3v and it idles around 25/28 celsius. At full load it goes to 65ish max. I have a 212 evo, so yours being water cooled, you can easily achieve these temps!

Good Luck man, hope you enjoy your system :)

really? I'm new to oc'ing, and I didn't really know how to do it, but right now I have 4ghz and 1.9 vcore. Thanks for your advice! I'm also sending back my liquid cooling, as the asetek pump went for a spin, and is extremely audible. I'll be picking up another one today
