Description

Nothing impressive, just my very first PC I built back in late 2010. Was on a budget of £300+ish. Its been upgraded since then - Doubled the RAM, Arctic Freezer 7 (fan failed) replaced with Freezer 13, Radeon 6850 to a GTX 960.

I think the processor was the last just before the bulldozer's came out, the PC still amazes me how well it can still run games on high settings. It's only slightly overclocked to 3.7ghz.

AMD cpus are badass overclockers as long as you can give them enough power and keep them cool.

How is the phenom keeping up? Do you think it could still pair up with the newest gpu's?

my guess the CPU is a bottleneck about the GTX 970/980 level, but i wouldn't know tbh.. i'm just generally impressed how good games still run on it. I don't play demanding games on it like Last light.. but team fortress 2, counterstrike and plenty of other's..

Have you tested it with the 970/980?

nope, total guess :p, got a 960 in it

ps. I did have a look online and from opinion's, a non-Oc'd 1100T would bottleneck a 970

hmmm :/. I have a 1055t so I might wait for an rx470 or something. Anyway, enjoy your system.
