Stay awhile and listen. -Deckard Cain

Hello friends!

Welcome to my updated build! Since my original Deckard Cain build, I have made some hardware updates and adjustments for better performance and cleaner aesthetics. To keep it short and sweet, here's what's new:

Video Card: I added a second Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB AMP! Omega Core Edition for SLI. Not only does this make me happier when looking at my machine, but it also makes me happier knowing that I can crank all of my game settings to high/ultra/epic/etc.; worry-free! The SLI bridge that came with my motherboard was a dud, so I threw in the MSI SLI Bridge, which looks much better anyways.

Power Supply Cables: I had enough of the ketchup/mustard/Laffy Taffy cables that originally came with my PSU. I wanted something cleaner and sharper, and so I purchased the CableMod B-Series Cable Kit - Black. This cable kit made cable management significantly easier and better complemented my build's color-scheme.

Case Fans: I replaced my stock case fans with the be quiet! Silent Wings 2; two 140mm for the front, and one 120mm for the back. Although my build was pretty quiet with the stock fans, I was curious to see what the difference would be with be quiet!'s top-of-the-line fans. Overall, silence was improved, but only slightly. Regardless, I don't regret getting these fans.

Ladies and gentlemen, that is it!

Please feel free to leave some feedback. Cheers!

Very nice looking build, be quiet coolers always look great in an all black build.

Thats an awesome build. You should add the two original case fans to the base of the case. I did this in my case where I basically took out my hard drive, ziptied it in the disc drive area (since no one uses disc drives) then i was able to mount two 120mm fans to bring cool air up to my SLI 970s and my top 120mm RAD. Took 3C of my GPU temps and like 4C off my CPU temps. Love the Be Quiet Build, and always good to see another diablo player.

1080's got rekt. +1 for the SLI setup and that monster of a cooler. Although the only chip that really needs a cooler like that is the FX-9590. Extravagance.

Hey, did you ever have problems when installing your second card? I have the same card and just got a second one with that same exact MSI bridge and IT IS LIGHTING UP but for some reason my PC isn't recognizing the bridge connection. it is seeing that i have 2 cards but not SLI.

Just wondering if you could give me any pointers on how I could fix this. I tried it in multiple positions as well along with my regular MB SLI bridge. The Nvidia Control panel is still greyed out saying i need to "connect the SLI-ready graphics cards with an SLI connector." Thanks for any help!

Hi there. I did not have any problems with getting SLI to work with these 2 cards and the bridge. Are you saying that in Configure SLI, Surround, PhysX, you are unable to check Maximize 3D performance?
