I currently use this machine (as in the title) for video editing and gaming.

Everything works great, wouldn't boot the first time, as the front panel connectors weren't installed correctly by Corsair.

Had a bit of trouble getting the cooler on, but finally got it.

Part Reviews

Great CPU. Handles everything I throw at it

For some reason, VT-d was disabled in the BIOS, so I enabled it. No issues

Great RAM, that's all I can say.

Video Card

Runs The Witcher 3 on ultra at 60fps, so I'm happy.

Power Supply

It's a power supply, nothing to say here.

Hasn't blown up yet

I'd love to see the completed build, case and all.

Well, the H5 SF is covering 99% of the mobo, so, I can't really do that

I mean with the case closed up and the pc in position where it is used.

Ahhh, I can do that.

Hold on.

Why only three stars for the mother board? Just because of thew bios? Can you control the fan speeds? Thanks

will0956 submitter 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

Three stars for the motherboard, as it has issues getting above 4.4GHz, when I know the CPU is capable of doing so.

You CAN control the fan speeds, but, only in the BIOS.

EDIT: You can control it in the OS, but you need to install Gigabyte's utilities.

Hi there! It is a nice build though cannot see much of it. Lol :-) Anyway I am planning to buy the same GPU evga black edition SC. I heard that it had over-heating issues also that it has no backplate. Was wondering what`s your experience with it so far, regarding heating issues or the lack of backplate. Any problem or concern?

will0956 submitter 1 Build 1 point 11 months ago

The overheating issues have been fixed.

I don't mind that it doesn't have a backplate, and it performs great!

I can't get mine above 2090MHz, but it still performs great!

Hi there!

Thanks for the info and advice. I'm still thinking how to work this gpu business out but I was thinking the same. Just keep it and see how it works out.

Thanks anyway!!
