I work at a computer recycling/selling/repairing place and someone brought in a Dell Vostro 400 they wanted to recycle. I picked it up from my boss for 20 bucks, slapped in a 650 I bought from a friend a while back for 50, peeled off a Windows 7 key from a different recycled computer, grabbed a HDD from my house, and threw in 8 gigs of ram that was at the shop.

Right now, I'm using it to run a Minecraft server for my sister but my girlfriend occasionally uses it to play games when she's over and I'm using my main rig.

It gets the job done, runs games at 1366x768 just fine. For 70 bucks, I thought it was a great deal. Super fun to get an old machine up and running again. The Core 2 Quad still holds up today pretty well.

Thanks for reading!

Here's some 3D Mark scores (not too impressive):

MMMMM-MMMMMMH That is some hot garbage! +1

I got a Q9550+mobo for free when I did workstation upgrades for my employer and used it to build a computer for a friend of mine who uses a gag laptop for gaming. Unfortunately she lives in Croatia so shipping it has been such a massive pain that I haven't done it yet. XD

I'll probably put in my 960 once I replace it in my main build.

Nice. Reminds me of my Q8300 Vostro build from last year.

I have not. I might give it a go, but that tiny little heatsink might not be able to keep up...

Yeah, it would have probably been around 150 if it had an HDD with Windows 7 installed. Still an awesome price. I'm pretty happy about it!
