Two HDDS are slave drive from older cpus, this build has come together nicely and this case is amazing for cable management.
I can't say I agree with some of your choices.
A liquid cooler, Ripjaw Z, and Maximus VI are only useful relative to the cost with an unlocked CPU, and the i5-4670 is locked. Furthermore, you spent $220 on a Z87 board that won't be able to support Broadwell CPUs. Really seems like a waste.
Additionally, you added a mid-quality 750w PSU, when a higher quality ~500w PSU would have been a much better option for a similar price. Also, $60 for the PSU is really imbalanced, considering when it fails (all power supplies do eventually) it may take all your other components out with it.
The build is certainly aesthetically pleasing and won't lack performance, but it could have been so much more future-proof, efficient, and more reliable for the same price.
what did you mean by the $60 dollars being imbalanced? can you clarify for me
Why get the awesome mobo and the liquid cooler if your CPU is locked? could have saved a ton of money and pumped that into the GPU
I'm going to agree with most posters on this one. There is money going into things that should not be a priority. As most have said, could have saved on the MOBO and not bought a CPU cooler. Switch those out for a better PSU (Tt isn't the worst) and GPU.
Thanks for your feed back everyone just to clarify the Power supply was free. and the cpu was taken from another computer.in the future I will purchase an unlocked Cpu and some of my choices will make a bit more sense. I would hope. (I basically used some recycled parts on Pc build that I can upgrade in the future. why waste perfectly good parts)
I apologize for not stating that about some of the parts.
Dang...that's QUITE expensive for an i5 and a GTX 660.....
It is but there also are peripherals in this prive. But also there aren't custom prices.
When was this built? A Z97 board and an unlocked CPU (considering you bought a liquid cooler) would have been a better decision. I would love to see some more pics too.
I will post more pics and it was built about 2 months ago. the cpu was taken from another computer, I will eventually purchase an I7 unlocked cpu. But why waste perfectly good pc parts if I didn't have to.
good point. The i7 will be a nice upgrade
Why not just grab a Z97-A, and a 4690K? Also, that PSU was a weird choice. You could get a 1TB HDD for much cheaper than the two that you have, and the extra money could've gotten you something like an R9 280.
I chuckled at that.
My reason for that was because eventually I will actually purchase an unlocked I7 CPu. I pulled this chip from another PC for money reasons. and I got a nice deal on the video card from a buddy of mine. It runs like a champ. as for storage, I already had those two HDDs and just stuck them in there. and I purchased the SSD
