A budget gaming build for a friend of mine...
I wouldn't really consider an SSD unnecessary considering how cheap the 120 GB ones have gotten. Having an SSD for a boot drive is probably the best thing I ever did.
I definitely encouraged him to get one! I'm glad someone agrees that it is one of the best things ever... But he chose the cheaper option, it was disappointing lol
Did you buy a used 280 since you got it for $100?
Yes, it was only 2 months old. I friend was upgrading so he was glad to get rid of it.
anyone looking at this, would a GTX 750 Ti also work with this build? (dont need any fanboys, I already own the part and I'm curious)
It would seem the 750 Ti does fit as well. The case supports GPUs up to 350mm, the 750 Ti is only about 170mm long. Good luck! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Fpv9Lk
The case is really beatiful and seems to have a lot of headroom :-) Wouldve gotten an aftermarket cooler- but whatever it makes it look pretty clean otherwise
I would have too, but he is to cheap to get one if it wasn't necessary lol. Thank you for the compliment!
The cpu cooler is not listed but it looks like you have one, Otherwise it looks good
................ its the stock heat sink that comes with the cpu
whispers into ear get a load of the new guy
Actually there is no real problem with this in my eyes. Theres no overclocking on this sucker and the stock does fine in this case.
-Otherwise I would have opted for the 212-
We just used the stock Intel cooler that came with the CPU :P I would have upgraded it but he will not be overclocking so he chose to keep the price down.
that my friend is the stock cooler....
