Didn't realize the community here was so strong, will do.

Awesome, thanks!

i5 2500K is still a nice option for a CPU in 2016 :D

thescaryone submitter 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

It only slightly holds me back in DX12 and Crossfire because of PCI-E 2.0. It's obviously not an i7 as well.

RazerGamer 1 point 27 months ago

Could've used SLI 1060's and a i7 2600 for a bit less used.

I think he just added the GPU's for an upgrade, and the CPU is one he already was using before.

thescaryone submitter 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

Correct. Was a Crossfire'd 280x rig.

DJRob 1 point 26 months ago

You cant sli 1060's sir

Welcome to the desert, population: dust and tumbleweeds.

Why all the storage? Don't get me wrong I like the build I think it's interesting to say the least. It'd be nice to see more pics if possible. How's that 2500k holding up after all these years. I hope to get many years out of my 4690k. My friend still rocks his 2600k and the only thing holding him back is a GPU update.

thescaryone submitter 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

2500k is awesome. Been looking for a cheap 3770k for an upgrade, but everyone wants near retail. Going to probably go full team red here when Ryzen comes out with a mobo, chip, and memory upgrade.

I have the two 250gb 850 Evo's in a Raid 0 and keep Win 7, 10 and programs on them. The two 2tb drives are Raid 1 and backup and data

Nice and smart upgrade path. Yeah I've seen the ivy bridge chips for idiotic prices. I think you're wise to wait for Ryzen. I pray AMD shocks everyone

What? I can't hear you.

Lol

I'm just poking. I have no idea if those GPUs are loud. My son's gtx970 sounds like a blower sometimes and its thet "ACX 2.0" . Still louder than the old blower style card he had before.

thescaryone submitter 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

Not that bad. They only hit 80+ degrees on some titles with my aggressive fan profiles, which activates full RPM cooling, generally when running at or near 144 fps/hz.

It looks like its been around for a while. Maybe this was just an upgrade that the OP did.
