Description

He uses this rig for playing and recording games on his youtube channel. Works like a charm. Didn't run into any issues at all. Did not end up overclocking. Let him and I know what you think.

clean cable management +1

IrshaadH 1 Build 2 points 43 months ago

very good cable management in that case.

Lachlantula 1 Build 2 points 43 months ago

No offence or anything... but does he like the look of that case lol?

Mind0verMatter submitter 5 Builds 2 points 43 months ago

not sure, but it was a budget build. not really for looks. he wanted a good amount of power for low cost. i own one of these. it was a great tower and had good cable management for a low cost so i recommended it to him. just wish it had usb 3.0 front ports personally. the 200mm fan option is nice. really jus matters that it works.

Lachlantula 1 Build 3 points 43 months ago

Ok, thanks for input!

^^ this

the haf 912 has premium features at a low cost. Honestly, the only reason why it's so cheap is the unpainted interior, no usb 3.0, lack of side panel window and rubber gromets. Aside from those, the build quality is impeccable and is very mod-friendly.

You definitely should upgrade your motherboard. The 4+1 vrm without cooling is more then likely to fry under the power draw of the 8350 over extended usage.

Mind0verMatter submitter 5 Builds 1 point 43 months ago

thank you for the heads up. I read...

"Remember, TDP rating on all boards is done with processors at stock and with stock cooling. That means your 4+1 phase or even 3+1 phase (on AMD platform) may actually be fine for a more power consuming (i.e. 125W TDP) processor with stock cooling & at stock speed, but deviate any one of these and you're on your own."

from...

http://www.overclock.net/t/943109/about-vrms-mosfets-motherboard-safety-with-125w-tdp-processors

he will not be overclocking the processor so there wont be any additional power consumption. if we start having a problem with it i will keep this in mind. thanks again.

What if he gets this one? Would this work any better? I am actually planning this one with and FX 8320.

jaredt 1 Build 1 point 43 months ago

That is better but the msi 970 gaming or Asrock 970 performance in the sub $100 range. Above $100 Asus 990fx pro 2.0, Gigabyte fxa ud3 rev 4 (ONLY REV 4), or Asrock Killer. There are higher end better boards but not really 8320 territory.

xdenttim 1 Build -2 points 43 months ago

that mobo is just fine believe me my friend run's 9590 on that board at 5.0 GHz OC for the last 2 and a half year's. (not trying to fight you lol)

jaredt 1 Build 1 point 43 months ago

Haha um you have the wrong motherboard. To run a 9590 you need a special certified board by AMD with at least a 990fx chipset. This board is not certified, does not have a compatible chipset, and would melt. I'm willing to bet money your friend is running on the Asus 990fx pro or 990x evo which can handle the 9590. This board, no.

xdenttim 1 Build 2 points 43 months ago

yeah don't i messed up it not a 9590 which i thought was it my brother's build that has that my friend has a 8370 my mistake downvote that comment all guy want i messed up sorry :(

Sphyloid 1 Build 1 point 43 months ago

I would only change the air cooler, personally I would have saved a bit more and got the NH-D14, but the evo is still nice. Exams now will edit comment later to add what i do like

Rollin489 1 point 43 months ago

The NH-D14 is twice the price as the EVO. What i would do though is twist the EVO so it is vertical and the fan is kicking out air towards the exhaust fan on the back of the case. I think it would give you better airflow and a better look IMO

Rollin489 1 point 43 months ago

OK...i take that back about the airflow, i see you have a top mounted fan

Sphyloid 1 Build 1 point 43 months ago

Yes it is, but you are already spending over a thousand dollars on your PC. $30 wont hurt you too much, Also how are the speakers? and yeah, Im refraining to take a picture of the insides now as im waiting on the molex LED's but I may soon-ish
