My first build. If your going to do it, do it right. I've always wanted to build myself a gaming computer. Been planning this one for a few months now.

CPU Not bad at all. Very fast solid cpu. Definetly worth what I payed. Have overclocked it, but only to 4.0 Ghz so far, planning to go higher soon.

Cooler Wow. This is a great cooler. Keeps cpu at around 23 degrees idle. The software is terrible though. Thats a big downfall, its really hard to change the LED color on the pump. When I switch to my silent profile, the pump slows down, causing it to make ALOT of noise, therefore i keep it on performance. Tempertures were no problem when I overclocked the cpu.

Motherboard I read some really good reviews, and some really bad one. I finally decided to get it after contemplating my options. I'm glad I went with this one. It looks insane in this build, thats the main reason I chose this one. BIOS is clean and simple. Easy to overclock with.Fits the build perfect.

RAM I decided to go with 16GB just so I did not feel the need to go out and buy more, this should do it for a while. For some reason the 1866 speed was cheaper than 1600. Thats my reasoning for the speed. The color fits the build very well

HDD Just 1TB. Cant go wrong with Western Digital Black. Got decent deal also.

SSD Samsung makes some really good SSD's. I likes that this one was black. 250GB for the price I paid is not bad at all.

Graphics CARD This is a monster. I've read that its one of the best ones out there for the money, and it seems very well that it is. I like how most of the card is black, and comes with a back plates witch adds to the look. I do plan to SLI in the future.

Case I fell in love with this a long time ago, when I first decided to build my computer. Not to big on the outside, not to small on the inside. Not a ton of cable management room like some people say, but they all fit. Can barley see any cables. Build quality of this case is amazing. No 5.25 bay, but I don't mind, I just installed the OS off an external disc reader. The main reason I chose to do a black/white build.

PowerSupply EVGA makes some really good psu's I kinda went overboard with 850 watts, but I don't regret it. Love that its modular, makes it much easeir to build in this case with.

OS I'm one of the few that likes windows 8. Planning on upgrading to windows 10 when the time comes.

Fans I did'nt want to put LED strips in the case, cuz I felt most of them are too bright. These fans were pretty expensive, but worth it. Currently only have 3 140mm installed and the 2 120mm.

My peripherals are Razer Blackwidow Ultimate stealth. Would recommend this one over regular, just because I find the very loud clicky noise annoying. Mouse is a Logitech G502. 10/10 best mouse out there IMO. Pretty cheap also, compared to others.

Well. There it is. I've been wanting to write a completed build every since I discovered pcpp over 1 year ago. I will leave the link to my 3DMark score below. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below. Thanks, could'nt have done it without you pcpp community!

ps. I took these pictures with my oneplus one, so they are not the best.

Did you know about NZXT's white PSU's? I believe Fractal has white as well. Good build. Now let me find the +1 button

EDIT: Found it

I have heard of the NZXT white psu's, but It did'nt matter what color the psu was, becase the case comes with a psu shroud. Therefore you cant see it at all. Thanks.

Riiiiiight, I forgot the case has that...

Pretty! NZXT makes just as good cases and liquid coolers as corsair. :)

Nice and clean build good. I'm not a big fan of white build but this one look pretty good. Everything look good (component)

cant go wrong with that case, everything appears to be in order :)

Really good build! With 850W you can add another 970 and run SLI in the future.

hey, was it easy to instal liquid cpu cooler?

cebiadem61 submitter 1 Build 1 point 48 months ago

It was not hard at all, my friend helped me, by holding it up while I screwed it it, other than that it was very simple, finished in about 10 mins. I did have to remove the top two hard drive bays first.

Does the case restrict airflow for cpu cooler?

cebiadem61 submitter 1 Build 1 point 48 months ago

It might, but I do not feel like it does at all. I have the cooler set up in a configuration that pushes air from inside the case to outside. The air moves out easily. The case is definatly not a problem with airflow, however I do feel that there may be other cases out there with better air flow for a top mounted raidiator mounted in pull configuration.

would an i7-4790 fit into this? I'm about to build my first gaming rig (looking to spend ~$1800) so i'm pretty new to all this.

cebiadem61 submitter 1 Build 1 point 47 months ago

Yes it would. I was thinking about it seeing that at my local microcenter it was only $80 more

skyz23 1 point 47 months ago

wow i was planning a build and the parts I picked matched almost identical to yours. Except Im going with the NZXR Noctis 450 case & msi geforce gtx 970 (unforunately its RED color).

cebiadem61 submitter 1 Build 1 point 47 months ago

Ya, the only reason I got the Asus 970 over any other 970 was the color, and I do not regret it. It looks and performs insane. Good luck with your build it's sure to be amazing.
