Description

FIRST OFF: Please take a look at my last photo. My mother decided she wanted to do something special since me and my friend were having a Fallout 4 night since Fallout 3 was the first thing me and him kinda bonded over to become best friends and she decided to go all out and make us a Fallout inspired dinner! please take a look and leave some comments on her work if you think she did a good job! Now to the build post!

Hello to all and welcome to my latest and greatest upgrade to my baby Za'Kir. The overly stickered up case as some may know it as. This time its some pretty big changes! I have an all new Motherboard, CPU, RAM, Cooling, Cables, and Case. Now with the new parts I will be doing reviews on the parts that are new. I will not be doing reviews on parts I already owned (PSU, Fans, Graphics Cards.) With that being said lets get onto the reviews !

  1. Phantek EVOLV ATX Case - Fantastic. I love this case as I also loved the EVOLV mATX I owned before this one. Every feature I love with this case from its modular design to the Velcro straps in the back. Its sturdy with an all metal construction and features a full panel window (finally). The only problems I have with this case is the idea of drive shelves. Its neat but with my liquid cooling there's no way they would work. I also wish the front panel didn't go in so much because my radiator is mount on the outside and barely makes clearance and that's only because I removed the dust filter from the case and used fan filters on the radiator instead.

  2. EK 240 Cooling kit - Amazing starter kit for people who don't know all the parts you need to order seperatly to get a working custom loop. As this is my first time liquid cooling I was pretty scared. Luckily EK has amazing instructions on how to do everything. from putting tubes on to filling it up and running the first test. High quality parts also. I ordered clear tubing and red liquid to give it a better look. Keeps my CPU cool as ice and I might add in GPU blocks when I get Pascal next year.

  3. MSI Gaming 7 Motherboard - Feature wise this board is amazing. EZ overclocking for noobs and an advanced section for veterans. I used the on board OC knob to get a 4.5GHz overclock on my i7-6700k. It looks fantastic too with my MSI gaming 980's and MSI Sli bridge. Only problem I have with it is the lack of USB slots on the back.

  4. Intel i7-6700k - Beast of a CPU. Overclock to 4.5 with no problems and destroys games that are CPU intensive. I saw a 15-20 frame boost in my modded Skyrim over my last CPU which is my most CPU intensive game as of right now. I don't use CPU bench-marking tools as I don't care for all the technical data. I prefer to run games at different settings and tweak stuff to find the best settings and get my performance benchmarks in game to find out what it can do compared to my last CPU.

  5. Corsair Dominator RAM - At 3000mhz this RAM is twice as fast as my previous update and looks stunning with all my other parts. Extra red light bars to top it off. This RAM also probably contributed to my performance increase in some games that use it.

  6. MEG Customs MSI 980 Back-plates - Holy crap. The best back-plates I've seen for my 980's and the quality is beyond my expectations. If you can wait a couple weeks to get parts from MEG Customs which is based in Korea, then do it. You wont be disappointed.

  7. Mainframe Customs Cable Extensions - Great extensions. I should've ordered combs with them but didn't think about it till my order was already here. They come with a perfect arch with looks fantastic. My GPU cables didn't have room for the arch so I had to straighten them a little bit. Still look good though. Very pleased with their work.

  8. MSI Gaming SLI Bridge - Its an SLI bridge. It works and does what its supposed to like other SLI bridges but I mean look at that thing. Its drop dead sexy !

Thats all the new reviews for this build. If you want reviews on other parts not listed in my review then head over to my previous updates Za'kir 3.0 and Za'Kir 2.0.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I hope you enjoyed it. Hope you like the pictures as well, I even got one in there with me in it! As always please leave any comments or questions so I can talk to all you great people out there!

Not a great player of Fallout here but the dinner looks awesome! I thing she got that vibe right, also with the cutlery and the environment. Nice thought for you guys for sure :)

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

Not everybody is a Fallout player and that's fine but she did nail it on the head. She also made it stuff that we would also eat. Thanks for the comment and my mother also says thank you!

philphaser 12 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

+1 for build and dinner! : )
….BUT! Your watercooling installation is total overkill for CPU cooling only; you SHOULD make it a full loop! Speaking of plans: what does 'Pascal' refer to?!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

I plan to do a full loop when Nvidia's new GPUs come out in 2016 named Pascal. 10x the performance of current Maxwell and is just overall alot better in a smaller form. So im waiting instead of wasting money on my 980's when ill be getting rid of them in half a year! thanks for the comment!

Just look up Pascal on google and have a blast looking at all the info on them!

Sxcbeast 1 Build 2 points 41 months ago

I just can't see Nvidia coming out with something that'll be such a huge jump up from Maxwell. 10x, that's ten times more powerful than Maxwell right? Or is there a bit of jargen I'm not understanding here?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

No it's actually 10 times then maxwell. It's all about the different ways the new architecture will work and communicate with the computer and such. It's heavy on this thing called "deep thinking" for computers

Sxcbeast 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Well I hope they really come through with their claims. I imagine its going to start off double the price the Titan started with.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

I really hope they keep it towards the normal consumers. god knows I cant afford no titan prices now

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

i did ; )

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Now you can see why I'm waiting!

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Well...sounds like you might want to change to a NVLink mobo with that. So you might as well consider doing a full loop now and sell your whole system than. Money doesn't seem to be that much of an issue and doing a new build is always worth the while and the costs. ; )

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Hopefully they can do SLI too XD but iol I think about it

Darkseiders 1 point 41 months ago

Pascal is the next gen Nvidia cards.

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Ah, i see...thx!

Matt4242 2 points 31 months ago

The dinner has totally taken away from this build; Still a nice build but I think I'd rather have the dinner :P

+1 for the dinner and I suppose the build as well, nah nice build mate.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 31 months ago

Hahahahha it is very well done my mother pulled out all the stops, but thanks for the comment, I'm sure she will get a kick out of it!

ZeParagoon 1 point 41 months ago

Do you got any stimpaks or rad away ?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

None of those, wish we couldve!

ZeParagoon 1 point 41 months ago

Also can I get some deathclaw meat ?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

I completely forgot about deathclaw meat when figuring out what to make..

EdInk 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

DId you purposely make your tubes form the letter 'A'?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Not really but now that you said it I cant stop looking at it XD

vekspec 3 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Great build and great parts! amazing pictures! a job well done!

Just only one gripe. Everyone is building overly powerful computers for Fallout 4. I've played that game for hours with ENB mods, and sadly, it's still based on the Skyrim Engine, so in reality, it's not that demanding. Honestly, a 970 can max it out and still get 60 Fps. I just feel that folks are building overpowered computer for a game that's still using an engine that can run off last gen tech. Now if you were playing the Witcher 3.... that's a different story ;)

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

O dont worry, this isnt only built for fallout 4. I love Fallout 4 but honestly it runs a lot worse then expected right now but I know they will be fixed and have performance mods and such soon. I built this computer because I wanted maxed out graphics on anything at 1440p at 75+ hz constant. It does the job thats for sure. I tried witcher 3 on this bad boy to and it does amazing. Thanks for the comment !

vekspec 3 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

ofc! solid build! :)

I was just saying in general lol. I've seen some builds on here where they built it in prep for Fallout with insane parts and then I ran Fallout on my system and I'm like...ummmm ok... LOL. I still can't get the darn FPS to hit 144 though. Even with it unlocked, it caps at like 75 which is annoying since my monitor can hit 120-144FPS with other games like Witcher 3.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

I got the uncap to work and it ran at like 300fps indoors but on the game engine it also speeds up everything in game the higher the frame rate so at 300 frames my guy was running around like the flash XD

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Mine right now goes between 75-120 frames depending where I am , I tweaked mine just right and took about 2 houses to get it just right

Onebadmojo 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

All new engine I thought

vekspec 3 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

It's the same Skyrim engine with some tweaks. Everyone thought it would be but quite a few reviews, Forbes had one too, where they stated it's the same engine.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

how are the ENBs looking? I know its early for really good ones i would think?

vekspec 3 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

there's actually not many mods out yet. I think most people are still lost in the Wasteland lol. The only one out there with like an insane amount of endorsements is called Enhanced Wasteland. It looks great! albeit a little colorful but hey it's the only one out there so far and least the world doesn't look depressing lol

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

I figured so, I know they're waiting for the mod tool too from Bethesda but sweet I might look into it

iCutToasts 2 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

WOW i really love your build man everything is so perfect and clean, and the colors... wow. i love your .... giant mousepad i think itll match perfectly my mad catz mmo 7 and strike 7 , but i cant change mine cause its a complete set, the glide 7 that goes also with the freq 7.

+1 for the fallout supper

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

The mousepad is amazing. best buy i made for only $20. and thanks ! my mother also says thank you!

16chance1 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

+1 for Yes Man

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Thank you! my favorite background!

blazend 1 point 41 months ago

awesome build man! +1 for you :)

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

Thank you kindly!

Tyler118Sturlis 1 point 41 months ago

How did you aford all this, how old are you?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

im 20 and in college. I flipped a house with my father and made a decent amount of money. Also any money I ever get goes into my computers for now cause I know I wont be able to have the time when moved out and grown up (Well more grown up)

Tyler118Sturlis 1 point 41 months ago

I see i have a decent pc right now! but i want to build a pc just like yours except two 980 ti's. I just need to find away of making money that wont take me a year to save.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

It's true to find the money is hard if you don't get a lump sum like I did. To save would take awhile. My only recommendation is to always be constantly browsing eBay and Craigslist for deals. There's always people out there getting rid of stuff for cheap. For money id say just start doing something on the side That you're good at that people might need or need help with, o built PC's for a few friends and that helped me earn money. I also detailed cars for some richer folk near where I live. There's all sorts of things out there to earn money, you'll get that dream rig sooner then you think!

Arkwoman1990 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Pretty sweet build.

For the lack of usb ports on the motherboard might i suggest buying a USB hub? Might come in handy.

Also i have the same speakers as you.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Yea im looking into a few different ones. The only usb things that I dont have plugged in is my external HDD and and my webcam. As for the speakers, amazing im sure you can agree

Justin95 1 point 41 months ago

I peed a little

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

just a little dribble, no big deal

Shakaron 7 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

You've got a great mom. Hope she'll do something nice for you for Fallout 5 as well. XD

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Thats what she said, she said id be 40 and she'd be doing a dinner for fallout 10 XD she had a lot of fun doing it

mlach 4 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

There's gotta be some irradiated toilet water here somewhere.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

hahahah maybe somewhere, granted Id rather drink the quantums!

mlach 4 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

That's how addictions begin.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

That's true!

MrMoose88 5 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Did you take all of the stickers off your old case and put them on this one?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Yes... it was a pain in the ***

MrMoose88 5 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

I can believe it was lol, either way this build is looking sick!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Thanks man, trying to keep it like the original but still give it updates!

MrMoose88 5 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

It is a job well done, I have seen each update on this build from the first one, it just keeps getting better and better!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Well that's awesome to hear, thank you so much for keepin track of them!

Protokai 1 point 41 months ago

good build would love to know how people do water cooling loops but ill stick to my predator 360 for now

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

It was scary and I heard that the predator 360 is great to expand on, just do your research and it wont be so bad to do a small loop! Thanks for the comment

Protokai 1 point 41 months ago

thats the plan once i get my gpu i may include it :D

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Nice man, hope it turns out well!

kalu____kalu 1 point 41 months ago

Love your mom man! :) +1

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Thanks I love her too! Lol she had a lot of fun doing it

kalu____kalu 1 point 41 months ago

Well that's even better then

Vergere 7 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Great build, and a great meal!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

thank you from both me and my mother!

Iceman320 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Your mom did a fantastic job!! Top notch effort I must say! 10/10

Your pc is also really nice :)

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

Thank you for the compliment! My mother also says thanks!

krzywasabi 1 point 41 months ago

holy ****. awesome build ofc, but that fallout dinner... damn. where the heck did she get those boxes of sugar bombs, blamo mac and cheese, etc? the only thing that's missing is the deathclaw omelet and cook-cook's fiend stew hope you're enjoying fallout 4 so far! i bet it runs beautifully on your rig :)

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

She printed off labels from Google, and yes I forgot about those ! And thanks for the compliment! My mother also says thanks! And fallout runs ok, it really needs to support Sli soon, it only runs decent on one of my 980's which is enough for right now :)

fenucci 2 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

very nice!!

good job!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

Thanks for the comment kind sir!

paultrott 1 point 41 months ago

Excellent build, lovely werk sir.

Your mum did a fantastic job. Totally nailed the fallout vibe. Top effort.

I'm looking at a custom loop phanteks evolv build for myself and your build is a great inspiration.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Thanks for the compliment! The custom loop was a lot of fun to install

huntman55 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Get a pair of VGA blocks and put them in your loop. You know you wanna!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

You're right, I very much would like to, I will eventually

Glistening 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

How many bottlecaps did this set you back..?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Too many bottle caps . I had to use so much pre-war money too

floridaboz 4 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

This is one of the best builds i seen all night. I like the red and black theme, the custom loop and how well it all looks put together. But how did you get your hands on red corsair power strips for the dominator ram?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

Thank you so much for the compliment! As for the light sticks check out MainFrame Customs, they have multiple colors to choose front!

floridaboz 4 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

In the future i will have to keep note of that, I know corsair stopped carrying them because they said they looked pink, those lights do look red.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

Yea they do a good job for sure

petardation 1 point 41 months ago

Hi, does the power supply come with 8pin motherboard power adapter that has 4 squared ones on them?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

This one does not

Agoldfish 1 point 41 months ago

There's no place like home indeed... Nice Build and Ohio sticker!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Thank you! Ohio born and bread!

Pedro_Martinez 1 point 41 months ago

Awesome build!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Thanks man!

LeonSantJennings 1 point 41 months ago

YES MAN!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Hell yea!

Sxcbeast 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Wow dude, your build is exactly the kind of theme I've been going for! Love the White/black/red design! And I wish I had a mom as cool as yours! That brahmin steak looks delicious!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 41 months ago

I know its a pretty common color scheme but if it looks good no reason to do a different color scheme! and thanks man, the food was amazing!

ForceJKnight324 1 point 41 months ago

Not sure if you saw my PM but I figured someone else might have the same question. How did you install the drivers that come with your motherboard and video card without an optical drive? Thanks.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

I have a external drive for about $20. Just enable in the bios section when booting to enable your USB ports then it can read the external drive no problem. At least that worked for me!

ForceJKnight324 1 point 41 months ago

Thanks for the info :D

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

No problem!

noap7 1 point 41 months ago

Nice build! How well does skylake perform? Would you recommend it? How is fallout 4 going? I'm so pumped bc i'll have it and my rig by christmas!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Skylake is amazing. Easily cranked up to 4.5 and made my modded skyrim go from 50's-60's to 70's-80's. I would absolutely recommend it. Fallout is great! I beat it after 113 hours clocked in ! But I explored done too along with the story. It has a lot of bugs and issues but it's still a blast but I can't wait to see your rig on here!

unpoppable 1 point 41 months ago

love the look

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Thank you sir!

Balmoreblue 1 point 40 months ago

Your mom is a ******* saint. Jesus Christ. +1 for everything.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

Thanks! she tried her best and I think she did a good job

moon261 1 Build 1 point 40 months ago

Oh good lord those stickers...

That poor case doesn't deserve such treatment.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 0 points 39 months ago

Looks good to me and a lot of other people

Turbo83 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

I have a single MSI 980 and did not come with a backplate. Did you purchase them separately, would you recommend one and if so, from where?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

I had a old backplate from a company in texas and it was garbage. I EXTREMLY HIGHLY recommend these backplates you see in my build from MEG Customs. Its a South Korea based company but the quality is unreal. full aluminum and screw on. My old backplate from texas was plastic with magnets to hold it to the gfx card. http://megcustom.com/index.php?vid=Backplate&mid=meg&ckattempt=1 thats their website, check them out!

RachelRosebud 1 point 39 months ago

OMG! How did your Mom create all those Fallout 4 food packaging?! It looks so freaking spot on, like perfect replicas! Amazing! (I'm RachelRosebud on YouTube, btw). Amazing PC, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous!!!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 39 months ago

she spent a whole evening printing stuff out and cooking food. She went all out and did way more then I thought. She wouldn't show me anything until she had it all setup and done so I was really surprised!

Btw I'm you 101st subscriber! :) Can't wait to watch your playthroughs. I need to get some videos up now that I have the computer I do!

RachelRosebud 2 points 39 months ago

Your Mom is seriously so awesome! And thank you so much for subbing to my channel - I saw your very awesome comment just now! I just subbed back to your channel, that way if you upload some Fallout 4, I can watch and be super jealous some more of how good the game looks on your PC! Rofl. I was here on PCpartpicker looking at people's builds. I was REALLY tempted to start an Intel build with the same processor as you, but I decided to go the cheaper route for now and just swap out my processor (I have an AMD build, I put all the specs on my "About" page on my youtube), and so far I'm getting a much better playing experience - less lag, and even Fraps seems to be working better since I'm now using an SSD instead of my old HD with slower write/read speeds. Anyway, thanks again! Have a great weekend!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

Sounds like a great computer. By no means was the intel skylake a cheap route so kudos for your decisions. Ive got my fallout lightly modded too, nothing like my skyrim which is what I mostly play. And you are most certainly correct that the games will be much smoother and faster load times on the SSD.

If its too much to ask Id like to know how you make the videos and stuff. Ive never recorded before so I dont have a clue about what I need or anything. You can message me on here or get ahold of me on steam which is where I normally am with the user name "ForePlayFrankie" on some basic setup infor on what to use to record and stuff. I'd greatly appreciate it!

RachelRosebud 1 point 39 months ago

Okay, I found you on Steam and gave you a friend invite. I can explain what I use to make my videos there!

liamkav 1 point 39 months ago

How is the stafe i have been looking to buy one?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

I love it. Id recommend the RGB version because it comes with a wrist rest. The original strafe doesn't come with one or has the ability to accept one. I really miss my wrist wrest from my k70 but if that's no biggie for you then buy either one. They're probably both the same quality

Bosspiesquad84 1 point 38 months ago

Is your pump combo screwed in or just sitting on the pump bracket

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

I had to drill some holes to screw it in, the bracket that came with the EK kit wouldnt line up correctly with the phanteks case or bracket no matter what I tried. Its a pain

Bosspiesquad84 1 point 38 months ago

OH, that's weird that it doesn't fit ddc pumps they are really popular.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Tell me about it, unless I completely missed something. Or there was a certain way I didn't try

chatsidd 1 point 38 months ago

Hey I was wondering to get the lighting effect on the vents in the front did you put leds there or did they come from the fan? Great build +1

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

LED strips on the back of the front panel, One strip on the left and one on the right! Fans might work but you wont get it as bright. Thanks for the compliment!

goodgames8376 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

What framerates do you get when playing Fallout 4 or other video games?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Fallout 4 at first was bad, now that they've patched it and added SLI support I can do avg 90-100 on ultra, with shadow distance at medium (Which is plenty far imo) it can dip down to 60 or lower in some optimized parts of the map.

What other games are you wondering about? Ive probably played whatever you ask about

goodgames8376 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Thanks. Those are good framerates. I can't go past 60 since I use a old sony TV as a monitor.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

It's literally another world when you play above 60. Don't get me wrong , 60 is smooth but above 75 is just soooo good. Great for gaming

CyberWiz 1 point 38 months ago

All Z170 mother boards have same issue, not enough 3.0 USB ports/ support. You'll have to purchase an extender that fits in the 5.25 inch slot above your DVD/CD-ROM Drive. Not sure if the Corsair memory modules were out for 2x8GB instead of getting a quad set (4x4GB) even though 16GB is plenty cause Gaming Rigs do not rely upon the motherboards memory only programs like Adobe or AutoCAD and other workstation stuff use MoBo memory. A shame you did not opt for GTX 980Ti. Not much wrong with GTX 980 but not really a value move from GTX 970. Only if you got the GTX 980Ti's would place you nearly off the charts. Oh! you would then need like a 1000 Watt power supply. Note: as for 4K resolution , technology (GPU's) and support are just scratching the surface cause game play on 4K has very low FPS still. Wait until 2018 when companies get into Full swing and make products worthwhile purchasing. Overall, I like your system.

Your mother is one of a kind, nice dinner spread and what about Fall Out 4 ? I'm hungry!! Nothing like Mama's cooking. Glad everyone is happy.

Merkdog 1 point 38 months ago

Hey I really like your build! In my mind I was going for the same concept you have just different colors. Seeing the pics gave me the confirmation on the water cooling setup because I was checking out that exact brand.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Thanks for the comment! Its actually a DIY EK water cooling kit I got from Microcenter. Came with literally everything you need right from the get go. It was really nice since it was my first custom loop. Ive got big plans for dual motherboards and more custom looping for Za'Kir 5.0 but it will take some time

Merkdog 1 point 38 months ago

In one of the pics I can see where you have the pump and reservoir. Did you have to mod it's placement or did you just use the brackets that come with the cooling kit?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

The bracket that came with the kit didnt fit quite right so I actually had to drill 2 holes. was a pain. I suggest getting the ones that can mount on the inside wall of the case

marseryy 1 Build 1 point 37 months ago

+1 this black/white/red theme looks great!

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 37 months ago

how's the fan noise with 5 of them in your build?Im planning on putting 7 riing fans on the same case and mobo..also how did you connect all those fans,on the pwm on the back or all on the mobo?can the mobo take 7 fans?thanks

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 37 months ago

The noise is very minimal, I'm starting to get a odd noise like one of the top fans are out of whack but I think I just need to tighten it a little more is all, but they're good fans overall, they're not great for a pull method on a radiator though. And I bought the phanteks after market pwm fan Hun instead of the included one. Plug them all into that and plug the pwm hub into the motherboard! I'm not sure if there are enough connectors on he motherboard for all those fans individually

Nice Build +1

How are those fans working for u in terms of Temps and Noise level (as well as vibration)

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 35 months ago

Temps, they dont push much air to be honest. Not as much as I hoped at least, Vibration is an issue on one of my top ones, the fan seems to be coming apart. Very strange, musta got a bad one or something. Overall theyre a 6/10 for me

CrimzonSlayeRx 1 point 35 months ago

Would u recommend it? cause im thinking of getting it...

do u think its your unit that's faulty, or is the product generally like that?

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 2 points 35 months ago

I think the noise Im experiencing is a faulty unit but the amount of air they move isnt good compared to others.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 35 months ago

CrimzonSlayeRx 1 point 35 months ago

I've been browsing the site and i can't find any sticker similar to those u have.

DexterW submitter 11 Builds 1 point 35 months ago

For the storage its kinda odd. iWant to be futured proofed for anything in the future. My 250gb ssd has my OS and all my apps along with game documents, music, pictures and such. The 480gb is my game SSD for my favorites like Fallout 2, New Vegas, and now 4 and also Skyrim. It also houses my 150gb of mods for all those games. The plain 1tb if for any other games and stuff.

Ive looked into waterblocking GPUs and I might when I have the funds to do it, when I do ill be posting it on here.

Thanks for your comment, very appreciated!

Strafe : Great keyboard. I had a K70 limited edition before this and it worked very well too. The only difference for me between the two is the strafe is a little harder to clean to me and also the strafe is alot quieter even when its a cherry mx like my k70.

Strix : its a great headset but it has a few flaws here and there. I honestly think you can find a better headset for the price, but in no way do I regret my purchase since I found them openbox on amazon!

Cables : behind my desk is a pain in the ***. I put them all together with velcro ties. It could be better but i hate how my desk doesn't have a back. That woulda made it alot easier.

Thanks for the comment and I hope my comment helps you out!
