Idle temps aren't given for the GPU because I don't remember, and the CPU because they're so low AMD's thermal diodes won't linearize and it reads sub-ambient temperatures (11C), which is impossible. It's got to be nearly zero ΔT. Reported ΔT under burn-in is around 6C after two hours, which is probably also somewhat inaccurate. In any case, it runs so cool that the thermal sensors don't work properly, and that's good enough for me on a Thuban running 3915 MHz at 1.375 V. This processor formerly ran 19C reported ΔT at 3625 MHz/1.375 V under an Antec Kuhler 920. The chip isn't a Black Edition or a silicon lottery winner, and this is as high as it wants to go at reasonable 24/7 voltages. It cracks 4GHz at stock northbridge clocks, but the NB clocks up 35% at this setting which performs better.

The GPU I haven't played with much and it won't boost above 1100 MHz without voltage, but HIS screwed up and shipped a 10% OC turbo model in a normal box (and at a normal price) which is awesome.

The case was not designed to fit water cooling, but it was the only one I liked the front panel on so I rebuilt it to fit. I stripped out the 3.5" drive cage, cut and folded it to three bays, and mounted it sideways in front of the PSU. I fitted the radiator in its place, which required slotting the 5.25" bay bottom to fit the end tank. The reservoir is mounted in the affected bays so it doesn't matter too much. The pump is free-floating because Jingway pumps vibrate a fair bit, and sits on rubber/gel isolators salvaged from old DVD drives. This is important because at low fan speeds the entire system is dead silent. Wire management was hampered by some bizarre choices on Gigabyte's part (the front panel audio header is in the far rear middle of the board) but I'm happy with how it turned out. I had to make a custom modular cable for the hard drives to avoid a huge bundle of wires hanging off, but zip-tied the PCIe extensions rather than cut up a cable integral to the PSU.

I obtained the OS at no cost through my college, which provides CS students Microsoft software required for coursework through the MSDNAA program.

An upgrade to an i5-4690K and possibly new storage arrays is coming by the end of the year.
