Why is my PC called, "MoonShine?" The moon and dark things i guess, I just like pUrple and BlUe Colouuyysrs... oh well. Here is my PC. Things I like are Purple and Blue (If that was not noticeable already) I have changed many things, I'll give you a short rundown of it at the bottom. 3 Things I'll Focus on is the CPU, RAM and GPU and the overclocks of them. I'm well above satisfied.
*So my i7-7700k was bought in December from eBay all parts were except the GPU/Keyboard/Mouse) and was able to get it to 5.4GHz without de-lid but temps were in the 100's. After I de-lided it, using a tool, with a dumbbell; I put some Conductonaut on it, and put it back in the PC (Didn't seal it again and don't believe in it moving) Put some more Arctic Silver 5 on it, 5.4 is stable at 1.550, Max that my Board goes. Temps max at 92c instead of Idle temps of that range. Temps of Prime that is. I normally use 5.1Ghz, but for a week I let it run at 1.485v for 5.3GHz just so the Liquid would settle for 5.0GHz max 78c when doing daily things: Roblox, YouTube, BeamNG. drive etc.
*The RAM is the least special I only get a extra boost from 72% at stock 2400 to 116% at 3600. Timing [19-19-28-33] This is from Userbenchmark. I use 3000MHz tho, cause it's easier and more stable over all.
*MSI GTX 1060 6GB Armor is a beast! Stock clocks are at 1554, Boost is 1759. It can comfortably go to +220. This resulted in 45FPS more in FurMark alone, and runs at a normalized 2220MHz. Could go higher but it is limited on Voltage. Memory was ran stock at 8008MHz and added 996MHz makes it to 5001MHz or 9.002GHz adding another 70FPS to FurMark. Since having this card it has not gone above 73c at the most max of scenarios. I would in the far future see how high LN2 takes it.
All together I use 5.0GHz 1.280v. Lucky me, got it for $234 on eBay new. My GPU is ran Core +137 Just for stability through out all games I play. It really helps, and memory sits at +537 and all depending on the task needed to meet, such as Sony Vegas will put it up to +800. RAM is kept at 3000MHz cause it does not ever cause a problem and suits my needs.
Thanks for reading :) Will try to be adding a Ti card, not the next gen, but any Ti after 2020.
Specs upon starting in April 2016: Pentium G4600 - Same GPU I Have Now - Aegis DDR4-2133 x2-4GB - Same HDD's - EVGA 430WB - MSI H110M Pro-VD Plus - Deepcool Case. (Note): My other monitors were not in the picture due to the moving and reorganizing.
For the price I snatched it at, I would say EXCELLENT!. Max Over Clock for the chip I have is 5.4GHz Stable at 1.550v. De-lidded with a Cheap $10 3D Printed Tool from eBay. Running normally at 5.0GHz depending on what I task is at hand. Love it stays below 78c at 5.0GHz and 5.4GHz maxes it out to 92c. Very Happy
Very cheap when I bought. Brand new, from a guy that never used it. Keeps both a i7-7700k and Pentium G4600 cool at Quiet. Be sure to have proper mounting. Not as loud as I suspected it to be, but if you do Mod it on a Deepcool Tessarect be sure to have RAM Clarence. Over all very satisfied by it, But if you do NEED the performance mode, only use it in benchmarks.
Love it! Great Motherboard for price, was short $20 for the SLI PLUS, but this is just as good! You are able to mod the RGB header to work also, look up some tutorials. RAM and GPU lanes and dimms, are very strong and sturdy! Gaming Pro Carbon uses the same I/O shield, so I swapped it out, once I changed the case.
Stock to 3000MHz will give you a VERY BIG boost in performance, highly recommend this, and it's very sturdy too. Runs cool, and fast, has the ability to change the LED's from Static to Pulse. Can link and un-link them too, Highly overclock able!
Great, and supa fast.
2010 still runs, fast for my needs as a OS.
The cheap fast storage. With much space for a couple games and all my recordings, almost all them ;)
Must have gotten lucky! +221 on Core limited by Voltages, need a custom BIOs, and 9002MHz Memory OC on this card. I would Highly recommend to everyone on a lowballer budget $239 for a 1060 6GB in April 2017, not anymore as a $419 card in April 2018 sadly prices have torched this card.
Good case, for all your Water needs, plenty of space, Minus 1 Star, for not having more HDD storage space. I mean really! Only 2! Cougar, you could have done this better with 4 on the back horizontal with a few changes here and there, otherwise great case! High amount of Airflow, mine was the Panzer S, fans are quiet and red/orange, love it! Anti-vibration mounts! ;)
Cheap buy, really recommend it. I don't know if it makes any-noise or how loud it is, cause it never has the fan on? I don't know, but Sleek cables and nice length, recommend if you can get it cheap! Also has a Eco mode. But that's off, fans are very silent, and PSU can handle a High OC on CPU i7-7700k 5.4GHz and a 2219C/9002M 1060 6GB GPU. 2 HDDs, 2 Fans/Molex, Front I/O, Hue+, RGB Back-plate, and more!
Windows 10 Pro, is there any higher tier of Windows than this?
Quiet/Loud, really a mix. Good looks, and Airflow! Recommend if you know what you want. Yes, the blades are Frosted and Translucent. No anti-vibration pads.
From when I did the first build, could have gotten something better tho... blacks are not black... and the crispness is a bit trash. But good enough. Used as a second.
INCREDIBLE Display for the Price! I truly recommend this! Very Bright, Good Presets, Very Good Colors! Perfect display for a lower end user, and has a wide variety for many options. You can not OC the Hz which I found to be saddening, but 75Hz is very good for me! also has the option for 60Hz.
Has 3 Sections of lighting, 6 Macros, and many modes, really recommend if your looking just to use a PC for cheap gaming! The wrist rest is a soft-plastic that feels like it has a silicon coating or something fuzzy. Makes Your palms smooth. Easy to clean! "The quick brown fox."
Want a mouse, get this one, has weights, has macros, has lighting/RGB, Infinite scroll, very responsive, so responsive it was a change coming from a Trackball mouse. Have used this for 1 yr almost (give 1month) and has a very good feel, and no normal mouse for me will be the same!
Have had 3 of these, last long time, good sound, recommend! Also recommend you do not use the Adapter as the mic is utter garbage! ONLY use the mic plugged normally into the port on a I/O. Logitech has many options and it's a fast launcher so give it a try. I don't notice that much as a Everyday user without the 7.1 audio. Still good tho!
