Hello guys, hope you're all doing well. I recently built my very first PC and thought I would share it with you guys. Let me know what you think of the build!
This setup is located in my room. Yes. I do have a tiny room and a very big desk. But they turned out to work out nicely so everything is good! With this setup, I wanted to step into PC gaming and get a taste of what it's like to game higher than 30fps.
I've been wanting to have a decent for a long long time but I never had the budget for it. I tried not to break my wallet but also not cheap out and build an under powered system for my first build.
I've had multiple people recommend the I5 8400 or I5 8600k for a build with this budget however these recommendations didn't get to me after I received my CPU in the mail. It would have been very inconvenient for me to switch my CPU and motherboard and wait even longer. Also, at the time I was purchasing my parts the Intel CPUs were out of stock anyway. Maybe that's something to keep in mind for the future! All around, I wanted to future proof myself for quite some time and I think I did okay with this build.
For my graphics card, I understand it would have been a better choice to go with either the GTX 1070 or all the way to the GTX 1080. However, for a very strange reason the GTX 1070 TI was cheaper by $10 at the time. I guess I was just lucky. So that's the reason I went with the GTX 1070 TI.
If I were to change something about this build that i am not completely satisfied with it would be to swap out the SSD. That amount of storage is perfect for me because I don't plan on having many games installed at once anyway. However, I can always use extra room :)
Something to add, I was really sad when I tried connecting my monitors to the motherboard for the first time. It was giving me a constant static noise. I have to admit I did use a cheap cable for it. So in order to improve the audio side of things, I went ahead and got the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. I've heard many good things about it and being the way I am with music preferring higher end of the spectrum of audio quality I think purchasing the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 was a good purchase.
Last thing, I know my cable management is not very good but I am planning on improving it in the future. If I have any money of course haha.
