Description

Machine built to play games and do ML simple calculations. Most of the parts are very simple but the build becomes beauty because of the corsair 570x case. It worked really well for numerous games like overwatch, rainbow 6, gwent etc... and takes 5 seconds to power up, basically the bios time. The NZXT x62 cooler don't go well with this Aorus motherboards gaming 5/7 with heat plate too high on top, it will not allow the 2 coolers to be mounted on top of the case, but you can use it in back panel of case to gain extra cool, or you can use another SP120 cooler to add RGB to the back too, as I did. The Corsair SP120 RGB is good but don't allow you to choose the perfect color match and it is very sad. The 1070ti Asus ROG is espectacular and play everything on Full Resolution and add extra light with RGB. The Logitech keyboard G810, headphone g633 and G Pro mouse are the best on the market, or one of. The i5 core have real 6 cores and is best than 7th gen i7 but I think in buy a i7 to replace it in future if it need an upgrade for ML.

Part Reviews

CPU

Definitely better than the 7th gen i7 and is very good for games and day to day apps, best budget / performance ratio

CPU Cooler

This cooler is so good and beautiful, easy to configure and monitoring with the CAM software, not silent as advertised but not annoying at all. Keep CPU cool even doing lots of ML processing

Motherboard

Very good MOBO. but have hist problems, the cooler on top prevent AIO larger coolers to be placed correctly, the RGB is cool but the software could use some love in usability and design and some connectors could be placed near the edges to help cable management, and why put that RGB swapable plate that no one will swap.

Video Card

So good. The price / performance ratio is sweet. You can handle all the gaming like GTX 1080 paying so much less. It have that RGB looks everybody likes and all the VR, 4K features. I think it is the best deal.

Case

The case have a really amazing look but has some problems in cable management and how you move it after the build finish because it have glass in every side and the screws aren't strong enough, you need care. Touch the glass leave marks, is really a problem place it perfectly. The other point is that corsair don't ship the PSU cover plate together, instead you have to buy one from their site to hide your cables. The RGB fans are controlled by a poor controller that only have 6 or 7 colors as default. So many problems only to look insanely beauty.

Power Supply

So good, I think nobody really need all this power, but worth the price

why is the rear fan mounted as intake?

nbdy submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Because the top o the motherboard have a cooler plate so big and hard plotted to the motherboard that didn't allow me to put both of fans that come with the NZXT, then to help refresh the water I put the back fan to refresh air too. What do you think? Should I invert to enhance air flow? any help will be amazing

Gentleman00 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

It's the best for rear fan to exhaust the air, as when it has nowhere to go, it will just warm up in the case, resulting in higher temps.

Great performance for cost ratio. +1

nbdy submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

Thanks, it took a lot of time to find the best parts with reasonable price

SirHalpin 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

For sure. It's easy to buy good parts, they're all over the place. But assembling a list of solid parts that deliver proportional performance for the right cost? Now that's half the enjoyment of the build right there.

nbdy submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

for me, that is so much fun

EagleByte 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

I think I smell a featured! One question: aren't all your light-up parts in your case RGB? If so, you could do more than just purple.

nbdy submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

EagleByte Yeah it is really RGB on all leds, I just loved this violet theme on my desk, but the case has only predefined colors (Green, Blue, Red, Yellow, Orange, White, Violet)

Beautiful setup and build.

What is it with people putting sh*tty 120gb SSDs in such nice PCs?

Vairfoley 16 Builds 5 points 2 months ago

Maybe that's all they needed? If you only have a few programs you might not need more than that.

Zombiehunter511 1 point 2 months ago

It's probably all he needs and he also probably already went way over budget on his PC, we ALL do it XD

nbdy submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

I really didn't need more than 120 but I agree that it deserve a little more, maybe on the first upgrade I put an i7 expand the SSD and put more memory, but with the budget I had, is good enough

OrbitalBuzzsaw 0 points 2 months ago

Sure but for such a nice PC at least spend the extra $20 and get the 250gb 850 Evp

SirHalpin 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

It's called a "boot drive" or "OS drive". All you put on it are the core systems and applications of the system, and literally nothing else. Keeps the PC quick and clean. All games and storage go on other SSDs or HDDs like in his case the 1Tb BarraCuda

edit: @Orbital I looked at your saved parts lists and you have boot drives in your lists as well, so now im confused why ask this question at all

nbdy submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

SirHalpin is just to look for prices

EagleByte 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Woah! Those SSDs aren't crap. They're better than Kingston or Samsung! Also, watch your mouth.

OrbitalBuzzsaw 1 point 2 months ago

Yeah but it's 120gb and it's the Green. The blue is great, the green sucks
