Description

I have always used laptops for gaming, but after I got back from this deployment I want to build a desk top. I really took my time with cable management. I will be adding different fans. As far as the parts list, I didn't know what I was doing. I spent a lot of time researching and came up with this. I am not on a budget, so if you see something that I should of done differently please let me know so I can get that changed. Thanks

GPU: I picked up the reference GTX 970 at best buy. I found the cheapest 970 on amazon and they priced matched it for $319. so just a heads up to anyone looking for the reference GTX 970.

If no budget, go SSD. At least for the OS.

Agree! Nice build, but Windows 8 boots amazingly fast on SSD. Consider more RAM, depending on your use. Enjoy!!

What size and brand SSD do yall think would be good. I have not loaded up Windows 8 yet. When I went to install my optical drive there was no room to mount it because of the way I mounted the radiator/fan up top. so I just finished it up and called it a night. ill just hook it up to install windows and then leave it out. but I am going to get new fans; maybe 200mm for bottom and a 140mm for the back. as of now the bottom 120mm is intake and the back 120mm is intake. the radiator fan up top is the exhaust. and I may of messed up on the psu, but I had to turn it around so the 24pin would fit, so the fan is facing inside to exhaust to the bottom. I really like the way the bitfenix case looks, but for my first build it was a rookie move going with a micro atx build. my main thing was cable management just wanted it to look like I knew what I was doing lol

if you want the OS and maybe a few programs/games then 120GB would be fine. Currently I have a 120gb ssd and 1tb HDD and I have about 35GBs left on the ssd and 571GBs left on the HDD. theres alot of sales on ssd's right now so you may wanna take a look.

waiting on fans. should be in today or tomorrow. I got a 200mm going in the bottom for intake, putting two 120mm up top for exhaust, and mounting the radiator in the back. don't know if Ill have the radiator as intake or exhaust yet. I have been running it hard and it stay pretty cool with the 3 stock fans tho. but ill get you temps for sure

Could you have mounted the graphics card straight up in that case? I am looking to build something in that exact case so I am very curious.

Nope. What you see is how that particular case sets up. I am not a fan of the gpu inlet fighting the uppereal exhaust for air, but this seems to be working well. BTW I like it very clean. +1
