All under $450 thanks to having win7 OS & 3 TB drive

Need to: Reformat 3TB maxtor HDD --3TB maxtor only shows 2TB with 1TB free, unable to span/re-partition

Configure Plex, sickbeard, & nabnzb --XBMC always seemed clunky, akin toWin Media Center. Plex is polished and AWESOME!! --Maybe look at coachpotato

Move over all media from the quad 6600 Home Server 2011 box --then add in its HDD's

Future: GPU (possible dual or quad), I5, and 55"-60" LED/LCD for Steam gaming

Any particular reason you went with that PSU? Seems a little high in wattage, even if you went with a GPU, and an i5 down the road.

may i ask how much you got the OCZ PSU for? 700 is more than enough for a gaming machine, let alone an HTPC...

Even in a setup like this, I feel as though you could have done a bit more with the cables. Overall nice build, but I agree with the overkill PSU.

16 GB of ram for a HTPC? And the MOBO and CPU are a little over kill for just a HTPC.

psu over kill. you mention a quad or a gpu still 550 psu is enough get a gold cert psu with mod cables. and you dont need a z77 because the lock cpu. 16gb is a alot for htpc.

i3 cheap 650ti h77 mobo seasonic 550 gold psu 8gb of ram. would have been better.

Consideration for PSU was for a modular around $50. OCZ came in at that price w/sale & rebate. Sure it is overkill, but its modular & 80%. PSU is 150mm, so it exceeds the 120mm max size for case. This limits internal DVD player, but I have 4 USB 3 ports. 2 yr plan is i7 & quad gpu to game on a future 60" tv. ????

Uh, quad GPU for gaming isn't a great idea. Driver and game support issues, not to mention overkill. If it's a 1080p TV, a single high-end card (Radeon 9970, GTX 880, whatever's current at the time) would do just fine. I'm sure one would work perfectly well for 1440p+, even.

Unless your plan is to have quad GPUs in this case - I'd like to see that done.

16gb of ram is to accommodate multiple users hit my plex with Roku & phones, Of course this just assumption, but its cheap... MOBO was for extra USB 3 ports & extra 6gb Sata ports. At 120, it was a no brainer... i3 CPU was b/c I want future upgrade...at 120, it made sense.
