Description

Gaming rig I built with a friend for himself. This is his first build with parts suggested by myself. My idea for the build was to take advantage of a few nice deals without making any compromise for performance. I think the result was pretty good.

My friend was especially concerned about having an upgrade path, and he got it with the 1150 socket. I think Haswell is worth a shot for anyone's first build or for an overdue upgrade. No overclocks for now, and probably not until games actually become demanding enough for it to be really necessary.

hmm, only gripe is the motherboard doesnt support sli so he is stuck with the single 770, that mobo only supports crossfire i believe. You said he was concerned about having an upgrade path, well you done screwed up there, lol

Dun goofed, huh? Hadn't realized lol, but oh well... never done sli personally and rather replace the card wayyy ahead in the future. Thanks for the feedback.

dont sweat it, you can always just go corssfire or get a more powerful single card or something like a 790. And motheboards can be replaced easily.

nice build! but why'd you get the case for 90 dollars? isnt that thing sold around 50?

Thanks! Being outside of the U.S. we'd rather import our PC parts, but big cases in particular bring high duty fees, so we resort to buying them at the local pc store despite the ridiculous markup.

Pretty cool! why don't you upload pics of the internals? My build is pretty much like yours (at least same MOBO and processor hehe) I had a tight budget though. Greetings!
