Description

I built this beauty because as a computer engineering student it has been a dream to just have that experience. I use it for everyday computing, video streaming, gaming, programming, anything you can do with a moderately decent PC. I am a huge fan of the theme builds that I've seen on PC Partpicker, so I decided to go with one of my favorite legendary pokemon, Zapdos. I used plastidip to change the black accents to gold and the pretty cool design on the side. Like I said I am a student, so it took me months to save up for all the parts, and it's still a work in progress. The next upgrades I plan on are another Samsung SSD, an aftermarker CPU cooler which will likely be Dark Rock Pro 3, then peripherals like monitor and keyboard. Overall so far it runs great and I'm pretty proud of how the "painting" came out. Any improvements or constructive criticism would be awesome. Thanks for all the inspiration guys!

The link in the description is to this specific design that I used and made a stencil out of it, but there are tons on maddi-san's profile, and I'm sure you can find others on there as well, Thanks for all the +1's guys!

I'm digging the build bro..only suggestion I would give is an aftermarket cpu cooler. Something like a Corsair H100i or a NZXT Kraken X61. Although if you want to pimp out the rig even more go with a Corsair H105 and replace the fans with Corsair SP120's. Then you can plastidip the accent rings to match the rig. Overall nice rig +1

What is the color you used for the trim? bronze, gold, gold metalizer? Very nice looking pc by the way. I would never have thought to go with a pokemon theme, but that zapdos looks great.

I used the vintage gold with a gold Metalizer to get it a little less of a matte finish for the LEDs to make it stand out. Thanks a lot, I thought it would be a pretty cool theme.

troubled did you have an problems with the 970 3.5 vram issue because now i am worried should i buy a 970 or r9 290x

TroubledDonkey submitter 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

I never had any problems with vram capping, granted I currently have a much older monitor as a temp, so if your going for 4k or something it may be an issue for fps or intensive games, but I think you'll be fine for 1080 or even 1440. It's cheaper and out performs the 290x with less temps, I'd say 970 all day.

jayztwocents has played some games with the 970 they were fine but in shadow of mordor it started to stutter

I like how you mixed the white and the yellow. My tip is to get yellow colored fans in the future, could look killer!
