Description

Love this computer!

I had to do some modding to the case to get the H105 in it. I had to install the H105 on the outside of the case with the fans inside the case but still screwed together. The front of the case wouldn't fit on either so I had to dremel a hole in it the size of the H105 Radiator. Once that was done I was able to attach the front mesh piece again and now you can't even tell.

I know I need to upgrade the Power Supply next. Any other sugestions?

I have some Noctua fans on the way to help with the noise.

Yea, it's still rolling right along. Can't really make the case for a newer cpu yet. Thanks for the comment bud.

Also, I was checking out your rig....Are the noctua fans as good as the hype? I ordered some and can't wait for them to get here.

They are as good as the hype. Can't hear em at all. My HDDs are louder by far.

Thanks a lot man! I can get it higher, but I don't want to hurt the lifespan of it. I was able to game at 5.5GHz without any crashes or anything, but I don't want to push it too hard all the time.

I think you hit the cpu lottery. That is fantastic.

10/10 best CPU overclock 2016. 5/10 not that good of a power supply 2016. Awesome build! I love the case mod. The 3770K is an awesome CPU and it overclocks better than most anything! No reason to upgrade yet! +1! If you are looking for a new power supply, get an EVGA G2 or P2. They are great power supplies at a comparatively affordable price. Have fun gaming!

edit: a word.

The GQ is also a good choice.

Great to see an Ivy Bridge system and thanks for sharing. I like the fact that you did some modding to make things work with the parts you want. As far as your PSU upgrade I too would suggest an EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W

Thanks for the feedback! Ordering that psu tomorrow (payday)

I wasn't about to not include my H105 in the build, if I would have had to choose between leaving the front mesh off to expose the radiator or go without the H105 I would have.

Is the i7 a bottleneck for the GPU at all? I was thinking about buying a 3770k as an upgrade because I can find them for relatively cheap.

To a point yes, it can be a bottleneck. It's not something I notice when it's happening, but there are videos on youtube that show the fps for each cpu/gpu combo and there's definitely a difference.....just not a big enough difference for me to justify the higher price.

I have the exact same monitor, mouse, keyboard, and GPU as you. What are you using as a keyboard wrist rest?

So do you use both wrist rests for all types of games, or have you experienced that maybe they limit your movement etc. when playing FPS games?

It really depends. I try to use them both as much as possible just to avoid my wrists getting sore rubbing against the desk all the time, but sometimes they can get in the way and I ditch one or both of them. I use them 100% of the time when not gaming and probably 70% of the time while gaming.

I have a set at home and work.
