Description

Build Date: 08JAN2016

Story time. I was randomly at the store wearing this Shirt and was approached by a guy that asked me what it was and once I explained he said "Oh wow! Do you build your own?" And I said "Of course" and then explained that I did customer builds as a hobby and he asked "Can you build me something decent for $1800?".

Decent? Good lord son. Yes.

Pros:

  • G1 980 ti
  • 500GB SSD
  • Aesthetically Beautiful case
  • Tier 1 PSU
  • BluRay Drive
  • i7 "K"
  • Water Cooling

Cons:

  • Don't put the X61 in the R5. More on that below.

Notes: First of all, the customer ordered the parts and switched the case on me without telling me until I went over to his house to build it. Anyways, the Kraken by no fault of it's own wouldn't fit on the top because there wasn't enough space for the radiator+fans. It wouldn't fit on the front because of the tool-less fan case didn't have mounting holes. Solution? I ended up flipping the tool-less fan case around to face the inside but since the fan case doesn't have standard spacing for a radiator, I was only able to match two of the holes up with screws to secure it. Don't worry, it's not going anywhere. I had a lot of fun building this computer and even with the missmatch of parts, I really do love the Fractal cases. Sorry that I didn't get more pictures of the build, I felt weird snapping pictures in someone else's home. If you have any questions. Please ask!

He probably would have let me but I didn't want to be snapping photos while building the computer. I rarely ever build computers in other people's homes, it can be unnerving, but he was a good kid and we had a mutual acquaintance that verified that I wouldn't be murdered. I might ask him to snap a few more photos of the build and send them too me. Glad you liked the story lol.
