Update 5/10/2014: Changed my keyboard to an ten-keyless cherry brown switch CM storm keyboard, Corsair also RMA'ed my mouse and I got a M45 in exchange. And I got a larger mouse mat. Lastly I added a UV LED light by Logisys

This is like what? The 3rd time I've changed my build on PCP? Anyway Here it goes...

This build is used to play BF4 and whatever else I might have time for. I also like to take photos so I do a lot of photo editing on this. The Build streams media great and I have a lot of music so this case has plenty of room to add additional storage. This build handles everything I throw at it better than any PC I've ever owned.

An interesting story behind the update, a kid saw one of my ads on Craigslist when I was selling my H60 and previous memory and he asked what GPU I had. I had a GTX760 SC at the time and he said he would trade me his PNY GTX 770 for the H60, a stick of 4GB memory and my GPU. I happily took the trade and now I am enjoying the power of the 770! He told me his CPU was a bottleneck with his GPU so I guess I helped him out in a way.

As far as my case upgrade I found this case to be a breeze to work with and a huge step up from my beloved Corsair 200r. I love Fractal and their quality was a real step up from the 200r. I also enjoy my tinted window I got with the Blackout Edition.

I think the next step would be to add a UV cold cathode stick. I hear it looks really good with Noctua's tan and brown fans. I love Noctua, it is why I proudly slapped the badge on there, because this computer is air cooled but quieter than most of the builds running stock corsair fans on their H100i's. I get the same idle temps when I undervolt the CPU fans and exhaust fan to 5 and 3 volts.

With the NH D-14, I get ridiculously temps for a Haswell processor. I did not even think about de-lidding after I got this cooler. It handled my modest overclock extremely well and stays cool even when the exhaust fan and two cpu cooler fans are undervolted to 3V via my fan controller. REMEMBER, HASWELL IS A SIZE QUEEN. BIGGER IS BETTER

The stock fans that came with the Blackout Edition are all black but just as quiet so I put both of them in front for intake while one Noctua NF F-12 does all the exhaust work.

The Mobo works as it should and Asus has plenty of features when it comes to overclocking. More than what I needed but I can depend on this board to last me

LP corsair vengeance RAM modules to replace my Patriot Viper 3, I only replaced them cause I didn't like the red in the build.

My Samsung EVO SSD works fast although I wish I got the 250GB My 1TB WD HDD does the job and is actually the one holding BF4 atm, loading times could be cut by moving it to the SSD but I don't want to fill up the SSD with Dices 24GB game and all its crap.

I got an 850W PSU because I thought I needed it when I first started building, now I know I can go SLI if I wanted.

Windows 7 because Windows 7 lol

That concludes my build! 4444

wtf Is Leo in there for? This build may earn a +1 from me, but now it won't earn an Oscar for some bizarre reason...

Pulf 2 points 37 months ago

Hate to be that guy, but....

infinitemerald 1 Build 2 points 37 months ago

lol yep. I can't believe my comment is now almost 2 years old now... it's already learning how to walk...

I love photography workstations because the pictures are always so high quality, nice build and very clean.

duramax08 1 Build 5 points 61 months ago

I bet those fans are great, I just hate that they are brown.

desync408 submitter 1 Build 9 points 61 months ago

Mobo is brown, fans are brown, the tan look lush in the tinted window case. Ive had plenty of high end fans and Ive sold all of them to keep these puppys. They just do work. Son.

ThisOneisOdd 4 points 61 months ago

Don't know why everyone is ripping on the fans, I don't think they look too bad. Then again, I'm not too uptight about the whole 'matching colors' thing. Aesthetics aren't as important as power to me.

Regardless, I love this build. Don't know why someone would trade a 770 for a 760, but oh well. +1.

desync408 submitter 1 Build 2 points 61 months ago

I am more of a function over form guy and generally I follow the rule that form comes with the function anyway

nice to see noctua on an i7 instead of an evo, +1

cooperred 2 Builds 1 point 61 months ago

I feel like the name should be just Blackout but eh that's probably just me. Great build! +1

Comp69 1 point 61 months ago

I like that case!

plgdg 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

You bought the fractal blackout edition and put gross noctua fans in it? tsk tsk...

pegotico 2 Builds 2 points 61 months ago

its a matter of taste, noctua fans are elegant!!!!! +1 on a very nice build

plgdg 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Maybe in the right build, but def not this one...

pegotico 2 Builds 1 point 61 months ago

what would be the right build? white case? Just curious as I like noctua's fans very much They do look better on a white case but they are still ok on a black case imho.

Hakumisoso 2 Builds 2 points 61 months ago

http://pcpartpicker.com/b/GtB Noctua fits very well here.

plgdg 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

A case made of wood.

pegotico 2 Builds 1 point 61 months ago

i agree the colors would be better but if that were the case nobody would buy noctua. I couldnt imagine a world where everybody had the same taste. For me they are elegant and nice and believe, I have research many fans and their performance is hard to match with such lows db. You will get fans with better performance but at the cost of noise.

700mAdOg700 1 point 56 months ago

I actually really like the look of noctua's, maybe just because I like their performance... Idk I usually go for performance #1 and looks 2nd or 3rd

Hitch_Blacklabel 0 points 61 months ago

Agreed, for pure aesthetics and only $20-$30 extra, the H100i would of better suited a "blackout" build.

jaggysnake57 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Cydro 1 point 61 months ago

desync408 submitter 1 Build 3 points 61 months ago

It is a Asus VN247H-P.

Zvonfeng 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

I like the last photo!!!!!

justinlee98 1 point 61 months ago

Did those black braided cables come included with the power supply?

desync408 submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

No the 24 pin and gpu cables are extensions from Silverstone. The PSU works great though, the HX is the workhorse of Corsairs various psu lines. It is not the quietest though. If you want a more quiet psu I would go with Seasonic or Corsairs RM series

justinlee98 1 point 61 months ago

Also how's the power supply overall?

TyGamer 1 point 60 months ago

I am planning to build in the same case and also plan on adding some lights to it. What made you choose Logisys for lighting and was it easy to install and get working with your system? Also would you buy it again? Thanks.

desync408 submitter 1 Build 2 points 60 months ago

The LED ones work great, and I heard the cathode ones are also just as good, but they have more stuff to install. The LED ones just plug into the molex for power. I would recommend getting two sticks if you are going to use lighting for this case. the window is tinted and very dark

alia 1 point 58 months ago

which one is better, coolermaster h110 or nh d14??????????????

desync408 submitter 1 Build 1 point 58 months ago

The h110 is made by Corsair, not Coolermaster. The NH D14 has a newer version called the NH D15. Both the 110 and the NH series are serious coolers. Either is fine. It just depends on whether your case and mobo can support the size of either cooler and if you want to go air or close looped. Or if you have a bigger budget, build a custom water cooled system

grimmjow660 2 Builds 1 point 53 months ago

Are you able to fit a fan on the bottom? And if so, what sizes?

NeonMane 1 Build 1 point 51 months ago

Yeah! Raptor M4x.

Hellvaguy 1 Build -7 points 61 months ago

She ai'nt pretty and you wouldn't wanna be seen in public by your friends with it, but dang this sucker is beastly powerful!

linsyschopman 6 points 61 months ago

i disagree, i think this build looks great, very clean!

Hellvaguy 1 Build -1 points 61 months ago

Mostly do to the poo colored fans, but ya it is clean looking.
