You can power your R9 290 with that PSU?

Yeah, it had no problems. I did upgrade it though because I added a second 290 card.

4k Graphics Editing on a 290 ??

The 290 is perfectly capable of handling 4k. I haven't had any issues at all with gaming or graphics editing.

I'm getting another one anyway, lol.

R9 290 is AMD's flagship and a direct competitor to the GTX 970.

Quite capable of 4k and especially so if the OP is getting another one.

What is the 290x competing against ? It can't be the 980

Price is all it can do to compete, take a look at the difference between a R9 290 and a GTX 980, you can get two for the same and out perform. That's all they have going for them right now.

Not to say that means it's the way to go, it's just all that AMD has for them. (Crossfire)
