The first build I've seen using a Velociraptor hard drive +1 how is it doing?

It is awesome. I had the choice of going with a 500GB SSD or a 1TB velociraptor. I chose the velocirpator for reliability, longevity, and proven stability. Besides I get 500GB more at same price.

Wise choice! and what's the diffrence between this 770 and the other gygabyte one?

I looked at this 770 vs other 770's and this performed better than other models, ran with less energy, and was quieter. This is the windforce model.

Why did you waste your money on that hard drive? It would have been a much better investment to get a 1Tb HDD and then a SSD.

SSD's over time run down. I don't want the hassle of flipping back and forth between what to store on the storage drive and what to put on the SSD. Also I will have others operating the computer and they aren't savvy enough to install items on the storage drive. All in all, the drive will last longer than the SSD, and my storage will be super fast. 10k rpm and 64MB cache. It is super fast. I do have SSD on another machine and to be honest this is only slightly slower.

That makes sense I guess, but I have also heard the 10k drives are obnoxiously loud.

This one is actually very quiet. Not loud at all. I love it so far!
